IFX Payments Taps Compliance Veteran to Steer Governance

Date:

IFX
Payments, a global fintech company specializing in cross-border payments, has
appointed Millie Richardson as its new Non-Executive Director. Richardson
brings over two decades of experience in the financial sector, having held
senior compliance and governance roles at major firms like AXA UK, World First,
and Global Reach Group.

In her new
position, Richardson will advise IFX Payments’ Board on strategic direction,
performance, and risk management as the company continues its expansion through
organic growth and acquisitions.

Her expertise in governance and compliance
will be instrumental in ensuring IFX Payments adheres to industry best
practices and evolving regulations.

“Millie
has an enviable CV, with a wealth of experience in compliance and risk – an
increasingly critical dimension of the industry,” said Will Marwick, the CEO
of IFX Payments. “I am confident she will be a valuable asset to the
business as we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead.”

Richardson,
who currently serves as the CEO of the Association of Foreign Exchange and
Payment Companies, emphasized the importance of anticipating changing customer
behavior and expectations in the fast-paced international payments industry.

“To be
true leaders, payment providers must move faster than the competition to meet
and exceed those needs,” she said.

This marks another C-level change for IFX Payments this year. Finance Magnates
reported in January that Sara Cass was appointed to Chief Compliance Officer. With
more than 15 years of in-depth experience in the financial services industry,
Cass has an outstanding history of directing compliance operations within
notable companies.

Continued Shifts in
Financial Sector Leadership

The
landscape of the financial industry is undergoing notable shifts in leadership,
highlighted by the recent transition of John Estrada, who became the
new Head of Global FX in Societe Generale
.

A
significant announcement came from SIX last Friday, with David Brupbacher
set to assume the role of Head of IT
and become a member of the Executive Board
from July 2024. Brupbacher’s appointment underscores his rich background and
effectiveness in IT management across financial services.

Just one
day before Brupbacher’s news, Fireblocks, a platform for managing digital
assets and advancing blockchain technology, named Michal Ferguson as its Chief
Marketing Officer
.

Adding to
the week’s executive movements, Mark Durrant shared his new venture on
LinkedIn, joining Advertrader as Chief Revenue Officer earlier that week.
