How to Install the Google PlayStore in Your Amazon Fire Tablet?

Published

on

Amazon Fire Tablets only allow you to download apps from the Amazon Appstore and operate on Fire OS, a proprietary version of Android. That means you can download the Play Store and access millions of Android apps and games, including Google products such as Gmail, Chrome, Google Maps, and more.

The best part about installing the Play Store on your Fire Tablet is that it doesn’t necessitate any advanced “hacking” such as rooting or executing scripts from a computer. It’ll only take a few minutes to download and install a few APK files from your tablet, and you’ll be up and running with the Play Store in no time! Let’s get this party started.

  1. Files from the Play Store can be downloaded here.
  2. Make sure your Fire Tablet is from 2014 or later before we begin. This method may not work with older Kindle Fire tablets because “Apps From Unknown Sources” must be enabled.
  3. To begin, go to the “Home” tab on the home screen and open the “Settings” app.
  4. Go to “Security & Privacy” now.
  5. “Apps from Unknown Sources” should be selected.
  6. Toggle on “Allow From This Source” after finding “Silk Browser.” This is how we’ll be able to install an app from somewhere other than the Amazon app store.
  7. Now that we’ve cleared that up, we can begin downloading the Play Store data. To get the Play Store up and running, we’ll need four APK files, each of which is unique to your Fire Tablet.
  8. Go to Settings > Device Options > About Fire Tablet to see which Amazon Fire Tablet model you have. Here you’ll find the name of your “Device Model.” Go to Settings > Device Options > System Updates to view your Fire OS version.
  9. We can download the required files below based on the device model. Simply copy and paste the links from the tables below into your Amazon Fire tablet’s Silk Browser. At this time, we’re only downloading the files; don’t open them yet.

Fixes for some of the most common issues

  1. If the Play Store or other Google apps aren’t working properly, try the following remedies.
“On your device, this account already exists.”
  2. Follow these instructions if you encounter the error “This account already exists on your device” when logging into Chrome or another Google app, or if the app doesn’t identify your Google account at all:
  3. Close the app that’s giving you trouble (e.g., swipe it away from the Recents/multi-tasking screen).
  4. Select ‘Manage all programmes’ from the Apps & Permissions menu in the Settings app. Depending on your version of Fire OS, these choices may have various names.
  5. Find the app that’s giving you trouble in the list, tap it, then choose ‘Permissions.’
  6. Turn on all of the permissions that are available. In my tests, simply enabling the Contacts permission did the task, but you might as well enable everything for good measure.
  7. Relaunch the app.
  8. You must also open Chrome, go to the Settings menu, and select the ‘Continue as…’ blue button at the top of the screen in Chrome.

Troubleshooting

Here are some general troubleshooting recommendations if you’re facing a problem that isn’t covered above.

Restart the tablet.

This may seem self-evident, but it’s an excellent first step. Hold down the power button, touch the ‘Power Off’ option, and then press the power button again to turn your tablet back on. Open the Play Store from the home screen when it has rebooted to see if it works.

Delete the app’s data

I couldn’t sign into the Play Store until I purged the app’s local data when I first wrote this instruction. This will essentially restore the Play Store app to its original condition, which should resolve most issues.

Open the Settings app, go to the ‘Apps & Notifications’ section (or whatever area has the word ‘Apps’ in it), and hit ‘Manage All Applications.’ Tap the Play Store when it appears in the list of apps.

On this information screen, you must complete two steps. To stop the Play Store from functioning, first tap the ‘Force Stop’ button. Then go to the ‘Storage’ menu and select ‘Clear Data’ (also known as ‘Clear Storage’). Now go back to the Play Store app and test it out.

If that doesn’t work, repeat the instructions above, but this time restart your tablet before attempting to open the Play Store. If it doesn’t work, force-stopping and wiping data for Google Play Services as well as the Play Store might help.

The tablet should be reset.

If you still can’t get the Play Store to work, your best bet is to restore your tablet to factory settings and try again. If you’re resetting up the tablet, make sure you don’t restore from a backup unless the backup was done before you attempted to install the Play Store.

After that, there’s a lot to do

Congratulations, the Google Play Store is now available on your Fire tablet! Give yourself a pat on the back. Now that the difficult portion is done, there are a few things you should do or remember.

Change the launcher and add new Google services

You can make your Fire tablet perform more like a standard Android phone or tablet with a little extra effort. It’s possible to make Chrome the default browser, add Google Assistant, and even change the home screen launcher. To get started, go to the link below and read our tutorial.

Install Google Play on all of your other devices

The install process only applies to the device profile you’ve been using because the Play Store isn’t a system-level programme for Fire tablets. Because Amazon’s Fire OS won’t let you have various versions of Play Services and the Play Store installed on each profile, the processes are a little different if you wish to add the Play Store for additional users on the same device. Thanks to Florian Wolters on Stack Overflow for pointing this out.

The simplest way to acquire the Play Store on a different user profile is to extract the APKs from the first profile and install them on the second. We only need to get the Play Services and Play Store files.

On the user profile with the Play Store already installed:

  1. Open ML Manager after downloading it from the Play Store.
  2. Find Google Play Services in the list of programmes and tap the ‘Extract’ option.
  3. Tap the ‘Extract’ button when you find Google Play Store in the list.

The two APKs have now been saved to your tablet’s internal storage in the ‘ML Manager’ folder. Because user profiles cannot access files from other profiles, you must copy the two APKs to a different location, log into the second profile, then copy them to the files of the second profile. Swiss Transfer, an internet application for transmitting files, is the simplest way to achieve this.

  1. Accept the terms and conditions of use by opening Swiss Transfer (swisstransfer.com) in your tablet’s browser (Silk, Chrome, etc).
  2. Tap the upload button, then pick ‘Show internal storage’ from the option on the right.
  3. Open the left side menu while still in the file browser and pick your tablet (it should be the only item that says how much storage is remaining).
  4. Hold down on one of the files in the ML Manager folder until ‘1 selected’ appears, then tap the second file. At the top, it should state ‘2 picked.’ Continue until you’ve selected all of the APKs, then tap the top-right ‘Open’ button.
  5. Fill out the email form to send the link in a message if the other user profile has an email account set up. If you merely want to make a link, tap the Link button.
  6. Select ‘Transfer’ from the drop-down menu.

If you selected the link option, write it down, enter it into Google Keep on the web and store it as a note, or save it in another way.
It’s time to move to the second user profile now that you have all you need.

On the profile of the user who does not have access to the Play Store:

  1. Go to the link you received in the last step, either by putting it into your web browser’s address bar or by opening the email Swiss Transfer sent you (if you chose that option).
  2. Download the ZIP file containing the two APKs.
  3. Search for ‘ES File Explorer’ in the Amazon Appstore and download it.

Return to the beginning of this tutorial and follow the instructions just as you did previously. Only download and install the first two items — Google Account Manager and Google Services Framework — when you arrive to the step where you have to download APKs. After you’ve installed those two apps, you’ll need to install the APKs from the first profile you copied.

  1. From the home screen, launch ES File Manager.
  2. Tap the top-left menu button, select ‘Local,’ and then ‘Download.’
  3. ‘Send-Archive’ is probably the name of the ZIP file you downloaded previously.
  4. Two APKs should be visible. These, too, must be installed in the exact order, as before.
  5. Then hit ‘Install’ on the one that starts with ‘com.google.android.gms’ (this is Google Play Services).
  6. Now press ‘Install’ on the one that starts with ‘com.android.vending’ (this is the Play Store).
  7. Reboot your tablet, log into the second profile, and check to see if the Play Store is working. Check out the Troubleshooting section above if you’re having problems.

How to Choose CRM Software

Published

on

How to Choose CRM Software- Customer relationship management (CRM) software might be beneficial to your developing company. It allows you to keep track of your present and potential clients’ relationships. CRM software may track leads and retain critical client information such as phone numbers, email addresses, and previous interactions in a single platform using a data-driven approach.

This programme includes a number of tools for performing various activities, such as automating emails and creating real-time dashboards that display company performance data and other insights.

A CRM supplied via the Software-as-a-Service model is often hosted on a central server, with consumers paying a monthly subscription fee to access it. Subscriptions can be purchased per user, per month, or per year.

CRM plans are frequently separated into tiers, giving consumers the option of choosing between an enterprise-level tool and a less expensive solution with less features.

How do you choose what MSP CRM software to get? Here are some suggestions for you to consider.

Table of Contents

What kind of deployment do you like: Cloud or On-premise?

CRM can be deployed in two ways: in the cloud or on-premise. Both have their benefits and drawbacks.

SEE ALSO:

Dell announced New EMC PowerScale Features as Well as Other Security Enhancements

You won’t need a server or technical knowledge if you use cloud CRM software. You only need to log into the application to get started. The information will be stored on the server of the service provider. The disadvantage is that if your internet connection goes down, you won’t be able to access your data.

On the other hand, if you go for on-premise solutions, you will be responsible for purchasing your own software, which will be hosted on your premises. You’ll also need to hire in-house IT staff and buy the appropriate hardware.
The advantage is that you’ll have direct access to servers, allowing you to effortlessly integrate with other programmes. Furthermore, there will be no recurring subscription fees to consider.

Features and Functionality

Every company’s workflow, customer base, and growth trajectory are distinct. As a result, it’s critical to find MSP CRM software with a variety of features.

Pay for only the features you require and scale up as needed. Consider the kind of users you’ll have and the features that will be beneficial to them.

As your company grows, so will your requirements. With this in mind, you must make certain that the CRM software you select is easily upgradeable.

Integration with other applications

When selecting MSP CRM software, another factor to consider is the platform’s capacity to interact with other systems. Some CRM providers encourage Microsoft connection, while others function well with Google. There are additional solutions that offer comprehensive third-party application support.

Select a CRM product that can help you streamline your company’s operations. Check to see if it works well with the applications you already have. Accounting software, HR software, billing and e-commerce platforms, as well as marketing solutions, are examples of these. Request for a free trial

Don’t be fooled by the appearance of an MSP CRM system. It’s best to give it a shot initially. Request a live or online demonstration to get started. You can ask specific questions about their product as the sales staff leads you through the basics of the software. Then you can continue with the trial version. You’ll be able to gain a sense of how everything operates and understand its strengths and shortcomings as a result of this. Examine its usability, main features, and scalability.

How is its user experience?

When choosing MSP CRM software, you must also consider the user experience. Ask the following questions to the vendor:

  • Is it assisting you in completing your task?
  • Is it designed with a user-friendly interface?
  • Is it slow or rapid in response to your actions?
  • Are the buttons well labelled?
  • Is the sequence of events logically organised?
  • Is the user interface easy to use?

SEE ALSO:

Also consider the amount of time you spend on a certain task. All of these things contribute to the overall user experience.

You don’t want to end up with a piece of software that isn’t well-designed, so go over the trial version thoroughly.

Conclusion

When looking for MSP CRM software, it’s important to consider your company’s needs as well as the size and breadth of your staff. The proper amount of innovation can be brought to your firm by having balanced features.

ITarian can assist you in upgrading and streamlining your technology management solutions.

Ransomware Took a New Twist with US Leading a Law Enforcement Effort to Hack Back

Published

on

This week, the worldwide fight against ransomware took a new turn, with the US joining a law enforcement attempt to hack back and disrupt the extortion ring behind the Colonial Pipeline breach.

The Tor servers linked to the REvil ransomware group were seized in what was characterised as a “multi-country” hack-back operation that is still ongoing, according to a Reuters storey.

The ransomware group’s public blog was taken down, which was used to shame corporations into paying multi-million dollar data recovery ransoms. One of the operators sent a goodbye message that read: “The server had been hacked, and they were on the lookout for me. Good luck to everyone; I’m leaving now.”

The REvil takedown, which was carried out by a foreign partner of the US government, was confirmed by threat hunters investigating underground human-operated ransomware activities.

Several other ransomware gangs reacted to the REvil network takeover by transferring cryptocurrency reserves and even openly criticising the hacking operation.

In human-operated ransomware operations against various U.S. companies, the notorious REvil gang was captured employing the Darkside data encryption programme. The Colonial Pipeline cyberattack, which prompted the closure of gas stations, and the Kaseya supply-chain compromise were among them.

Officials from law enforcement are refusing to comment on the takedown, citing the ongoing nature of the operation.

How to Secure Remote Desktop from Malware?

Published

on

Built For Mobility

The Threats of Remote Access

Remote access control is becoming a need for corporate success. However, by allowing access from anywhere, at any time, enterprises run the danger of malware spreading and data loss. Criminals get remote access to a network and gain access to sensitive information as well as login passwords and identities. These credentials can also be used to distribute ransomware.

Understand High-Level Security Implications

For high-level security:

  • On very sensitive systems, use two-factor authentication.
  • Change the Remote Desktop listening port.
  • RDP Gateways should be used.
  • For RDP logging and configuration, use current administration tools.
  • Limit the number of users who can use Remote Desktop to log in.

Focus On Corporate Assets, Not Devices.

IT can utilise firewalls, personal usage limitations, connectivity rules, and antivirus upgrades to protect company assets from both deliberate and unintentional loss and disruption. Intellectual property, information compliance, and confidentiality can all be protected by remote access control policies.

Employ Strong Encryption, User Authentication

Your data is stored in a secure database protected by encryption technology using remote network access software.

When certain users access a remote workstation, authentication limits their access. It can be configured at both the network and machine levels. After getting access to a distant machine, authorization allows the user to limit the operations that can be performed on the machine.

Built For Mobility

To transition to a new paradigm of efficient workloads, businesses must embrace mobility. Corporate companies benefit from implementing mobility since it leads to increased productivity.

What is Remote Access, and how does it work?

Many people can now work from home or anywhere they like thanks to technical advancements in the age of computing technology. Accessing one’s file and device can be done without a physical presence or being in a central work area thanks to a slew of third-party software. Understand what remote access is and how it may lead to increased productivity and boost the growth of a company that invests in it.

Facebook Designed a New Tool for Finding SSRF Vulnerabilities

Published

on

On Thursday, Facebook launched a new tool to aid security researchers in their search for Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) flaws.

A SSRF attack, according to the OWASP definition, allows an attacker to access or edit internal resources by abusing a server’s functionality.

“By carefully picking the URLs, the attacker may be able to retrieve server configuration such as AWS information, connect to internal services like http enabled databases, or make post requests towards internal services that are not supposed to be exposed,” OWASP adds.

The new Facebook tool, dubbed SSRF Dashboard, has a simple UI that allows researchers to define unique internal endpoint URLs for targeting and then see if those URLs have been hit during an SSRF attempt.

The tool displays the creation date, a unique ID, and the amount of hits the URL has received in addition to the created unique SSRF attempt URL, which is presented in a table with other URLs.

Security researchers will be able to reliably verify whether their SSRF proof-of-concept (PoC) code was successful with the new tool, according to the social media platform, because only successful PoCs receive hits.

Researchers that hunt for and uncover SSRF vulnerabilities are encouraged to provide the ID of the SSRF attempt URL, as well as the proof-of-concept, in their reports.
