Over time, the bowl or down stem for a glass pipe can become clogged with resin. This can make it difficult to take a hit, and the smoke can be harsh and unpleasant. To clean the glass, you’ll need to remove the resin. 

The best way to do this is to heat up the bowl with a lighter and then use a metal poker to scrape out the resin. You can also try using a solvent like rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover. Just be sure to rinse out your pipe thoroughly afterwards. With a little effort, you can get your pipe smoking clean and clear again.

There are a few ways to get resin out of hard to reach places. Resin can be a pain to remove, especially when it’s in a hard to reach spot. But there are a few tricks you can use to make the process easier.

First, try using a blunt object to scrape the resin out. A poker tool or spatula will work well for this. If the resin is too hard to scrape out, you can try heating it up with a hair dryer or lighter. This will make the resin softer and easier to remove. Just be careful not to touch the hot area with your fingers as you don’t want to burn yourself. 

If all else fails, you can always resort to dissolving the resin with a solvent. Acetone or nail polish remover will work well for this. Just apply a small amount of the solvent to a cotton ball and dab it on the resin. Let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe away the resin with a paper towel. Just be sure to ventilation when using solvents, as they can be harmful if inhaled.

Sometimes the rubbing alcohol or heat still won’t get the resin out of your bowl piece. The resin a lot of times is so built up and stuck that you need physical pressure to move it. 

Step 1: Soak the bowl piece in isopropyl alcohol for 15 minutes

Step 2: Using a toothpick or something similar, scrape the resin off the insides of the bowl piece. It’s best to do this while water runs through the bowl as well. 

Step 3: Continue rinsing and scraping until the bowl is clean.
