Golden Guardians Akaadian Let Go Ahead of 2023

Date:

Golden Guardians Akaadian was let go today ahead of the 2023 LCS Academy Season. In a recent update video with Inero, Golden Guardians announced they are undergoing a full rebuild. This involved a new coaching system and building up young talent. Fans can check out the full announcement here.

What is next for Akaadian?

While the move was inevitable, Akaadian had a strange year. Akaadian started off as the Head Coach of Golden Guardians Academy at the start of the year. Very similar to what 100T did with Goldenglue, hiring a former LCS pro for the spot made sense. Akaadian has always been praised as a strong voice and team player. For younger players, he is a great role model.

Golden Guaridans under his coaching too were doing things that most teams did not. They were playing in PGCQ with Amateur and Collegiate teams. As a result of having a bunch of practice, the team performed incredibly in Spring getting 3rd in Proving Grounds Spring. At the start of the Summer though, a bunch changed. Almost every role was replaced and the team was lacking a Jungler. Akaadian made clear he still wanted to compete and got the spot on the roster. Unfortunately, the season didn’t go well and Golden Guardians Academy got 13th in Proving Grounds Summer.

As of now, the future of Akaadian is unsure. Does he go back to coaching or try to get a spot on a roster again? Hopefully, he provides an update to fans soon, but he also recently posted about his venture into being a DJ of all things. He did a show on the 20th of October with Damonte in LA.
