Gamers.Vote Partners With ReadyUp to Bring Voter Registration to Gaming Fan Base

Date:

With more than 130M potential people of voting age among the gaming and esports population in the United States, Gamer.Vote is showing the way to voter registration. The non-partisan, non-profit organization has partnered with ReadyUp, the interactive event platform that allows gamers to find, follow, join-in, and register to vote across all Gamers.Vote events.

As the first industry-wide voter registration and voting movement specifically created for the gaming community, Christie St. Martin, CEO of Gamers.Vote, tells The Esports Observer that the company’s intent is to lead a coalition of various organizations as a unifying brand to make voting a priority.

“Gamers could be the largest voting block in America with 133M of us being of voting age,” St. Martin said. “We really want to amplify those voices both locally and nationally. With that, obviously we have a few different things working in our favor for this. One of the best things I can definitely tell you is that we have no issues, political agendas, or political affiliations.”

Making sure that people understand that Gamer.vote and ReadyUp have no political agenda to push is important to St. Martin. It’s all about empowering voters and teaching those who can’t vote yet how important it is to exercise their right.

“Steven Lipscomb, our Co-Founder/Board and Chair for Gamers.Vote, has always been a person in the pro-democracy space,” St. Martin said. “He would go door-to-door trying to inform people how to register and where to vote only to find out that there was a significant amount of 20-40-year-olds that proudly stated they were not going to vote.”

To Lipscomb, this was a tragedy in that there was a significant portion of people in the United States that simply wouldn’t vote. After some contemplation and a conversation with his then 15-year old game-playing son, he decided that the information was crucial and that he needed to develop a way to connect to the gaming community to get the message across.

“My then 15-year-old son and I started Gamers.Vote in 2018 because we know how extraordinary his generation is. And, the fact that less than 50% of them vote, means that we have all simply done a terrible job of helping them find their voice,” Lipscomb said. “Since he and his peers literally are the future, we founded Gamers.Vote to take advantage of the amazing technology built by this generation to amplify and grow their own voice … as they already do every day when they stream and game.”

Gamers.Vote has partnered with ReadyUp to help facilitate Lipscomb’s dream with an interactive platform that allows gaming enthusiasts and fans to discover Gamers.Vote events and calls to action.

The B2B service integrates into a partner’s owned and operated media. Additionally,  the platform features cloud-based administration, publishing, and syndication tools so partners, such as Gamers.Vote can customize the ReadyUp experience to their audience and brand needs.

“We’re a B2B company that fuels existing gaming communities. For example, Gamers.Vote. The idea behind what they want to do is that they want people to find their events,” said Roderick Alemania, CEO and co-founder of ReadyUp.  “They want people to follow their events. And more importantly, they want people to join in. And in this case, joining in is registering to vote. Everything that ReadyUp does in powering this for them fits perfectly.”

Gamers will be able to find, follow, join-in, and register to vote across all Gamers.Vote events which you can find more information on the website.
