Fall Guys Free For All Launch See 20 Million Players In First Two Days

How big was the free-to-play relaunch of Fall Guys? 20 million, developers Mediatonic has revealed.

That’s 20 million players that have logged on to Fall Guys on the first 48 hours, or two days, of its Free For All relaunch. This coincides with the release of Fall Guys on Xbox and Nintendo Switch (and on the Epic Games Store, which is now the only way to play Fall Guys on PC now that the Steam version is delisted from further new downloads).

In the image of the announcement tweet, you can see the sea of beans, the Fall Guys characters, mostly equipping the punk bands, one of the first earnable unlock in this new season.

Like any multiplayer game launch, or relaunch, in this case, Fall Guys had some server issues in the first few days, and still currently making server-side fixes in this first week since the Free For All release. The Daily Item Shop has not appeared on a daily basis, for instance.

The switch to free-to-play has given the multiplayer game show game a boon of a player count.

The free-to-play relaunch sees the game’s season count starting back to Season 1, a big change in how progression works (there’s now a Fortnite-esque battle pass with a free and a premium unlock path), and a change in the monetisation (there’s now Show Bucks, premium currency for cosmetics). But gameplay-wise, it’s the same game about bumbling chums trying not to fall down.

Fall Guys is now available on PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
