Every MultiVersus Map, Ranked

Date:

There are a total of 13 maps that MultiVersus gives players with a lot of them being variants of the same map. All of the maps have their positives and negatives in their design and how players play on them. Some are best for one-versus-one situations while others work better for the two-versus-two game mode.

Depending on what game mode players prefer might change the order of these maps. The maps have a lot of interesting designs for the players to fight in. They also have some unique structures that can favor one character or another. This list serves to rank them based on balance and enjoyment.

13/13 Cromulons (1 VS 1)

Shaggy Alone In Huge Cromulons MapShaggy Alone In Huge Cromulons Map

The map still looks as cool as ever as it’s a reference to the Get Schwify Rick and Morty episode. Though it’s cool, this map can be frustrating with the hazards as it can favor players with strong horizontal combos.

A player can get caught in a barrage of attacks as the speakers on the map make players take an extra hit and bounce back toward an enemy. This can create longer stun locks. This map can be a lot of fun for characters with an advantage but falls flat for all others.

12/13 Tree Fort

The Top Part Of Tree FortThe Top Part Of Tree Fort

Tree Fort is much like the Cromulous stage but probably the worst two-versus-two stage. This stage, like every other stage, can be fun with the right characters. If players choose someone who has an up attack or a down air that can go through platforms then this stage is great.

In addition, there are too many obstacles that can lead to too many points where characters’ moves can’t flow as freely as on other maps. It is nice how big the map is as it has an upper area and a lower area to separate battles. The hazards and map design can be a huge hindrance overall in the two-versus-two space.

11/13 Cromulons

Shaggy And Finn On CromulonsShaggy And Finn On Cromulons

This map is like the other Cromulons map except that it’s made as a free for all or a two-versus-two map so it’s a little larger. A good team will use the speakers to their advantage and trap enemies into big damage attacks using the speakers.

The map can be just as frustrating as in one-versus-one here except with two players there’s a much higher chance of teammates being able to free one another from being juggled. Having a character with good range and another character that deals out horizontal damage can help characters to take control so long as the speakers have not been broken.

10/13 Trophies E.D.G.E. 2

Trophy's E.D.G.E. 2 With Characters FightingTrophy's E.D.G.E. 2 With Characters Fighting

Trophy’s E.D.G.E. 2 is a map for two versus two and free-for-all. It’s a really pretty map and in it creates a natural separation between players from one another. The map can make it feel as though two one-versus-one matches are occurring simultaneously.

The map creates a lot of interesting dynamics as support players can support from afar while assassin charters jump into the heat of battle. It’s a classic stage setup that helps with the flow of battle. Sometimes players can get ganged up on by two opponents and that can be very frustrating, but the map doesn’t stop being fun.

9/13 Batcave

The Batcave In MultiVersusThe Batcave In MultiVersus

Batcave is a really fun map to play on once players understand its different mechanics. There are cars that players can throw opponents into to continue combos. The cars are in difficult-to-reach areas so it makes players have to practice juggling opponents into them.

There are also steam vents that shoot out smoke that hides players standing in it. It’s just all around a fun map. The map can favor certain characters over others but isn’t as unfair as others. There is also a bat hazard that does damage players and this can feel random and unfair whenever anyone’s hit.

8/13 Scooby’s Haunted Mansion

Scooby’s Haunted Mansion is interesting. A lot of players will argue about this map as some love it. Some players think that it’s a nightmare of a map. The map is kind of awesome once players put some time into the game though.

The map is constantly changing. Players can break the walls of the house to unveil the shortest horizontal kill barriers available. Parts of the floor can also be opened and closed to make kill barriers beneath them.

7/13 Trophy’s E.D.G.E.

Trophy's E.D.G.E. In MultiVersusTrophy's E.D.G.E. In MultiVersus

This is a pretty good map as it has a lot of enjoyable variables to it. The map is pretty big so the barriers for horizontal kills are closer to the ledge of the map. The map is very well designed as well with waterfalls pushing onward behind the scenes.

The one problem with this map is that it has moving platforms that can randomly sneak up on players. What this means is a player will be comboing and then accidentally get on top of the moving platform stopping the flow of an attack.

6/13 Tree Fort (1 VS 1)

The Tree Fort maps have some of the most pleasant scenery that the game has. The popping colors and the cute little snail in the background create a comforting allure. The hazards on this map can be a little annoying as they bounce characters on them, but they won’t create unfair advantages and break quickly.

Once the hazards are broken the maps two stationary platforms and a small flat stage are everything Trophy’s E.D.G.E should’ve been.

5/13 Sky Arena

Sky Arena In MultiVersusSky Arena In MultiVersus

For two-versus-two and free for all Sky Arena is as basic as it gets. If players love to test out their skills then this is all that they will need in a map. The map is flat and large. There are no platforms to accompany it.

This does bring an advantage for characters with ranged attacks. Ranged attacks will usually be stopped by platforms which allows a little more defense. On Sky Arena players need to rely solely on their dodge as extra defense is unavailable.

4/13 Sky Arena (1 VS 1)

Sky Arena (1 VS 1) In MultiVersusSky Arena (1 VS 1) In MultiVersus

This map is just like its two-versus-two and free-for-all counterpart except it is a little bit smaller as it serves to be for one-versus-one. The length is not bothersome as all of the blast zones seem well placed around the map.

This is an almost completely fair map as it is the simplest, but its problem is that it can favor ranged characters like its counterpart. There aren’t any areas that players can use for cover and must fully rely on dodges.

3/13 Sky Arena Platforms (1 VS 1)

Sky Arena Platforms (1 VS 1) In MultiVersusSky Arena Platforms (1 VS 1) In MultiVersus

Sky Arena Platforms for one-versus-one is a great map as it keeps the sky arena design but adds 3 platforms. This is good as the platforms will allow players to have a lot more defense options available.

The only thing is that this map has platforms that are extremely close to one another making aerial downward attacks that stop when they hit a platform useless. It can also feel like it’s better for short-range to medium-range characters to traverse.

2/13 Training Room

Training Room In MultiVersusTraining Room In MultiVersus

Training Room is one of the most useful maps in the game as it allows players to practice. Any player that cares about climbing the leaderboard will be seeing a lot of this map. The map is designed so that players can practice distance. The lines on the floor as well as the background create grids that will help players in the game.

It might not seem like a lot at first, but if players put in their due diligence then this map pays off for exactly what it was meant to do. Players get as much as they give to this map.

1/13 Sky Arena Platforms

Sky Arena Platforms is the map that every other map in the game wishes it could be. This Sky Arena Platform map is for two-versus-two and free for all so it’s bigger. The map is as balanced as they come. There are gaps between the platforms which allow for a lot more movement options to be viable.

None of the classes on this map feel like they are being overwhelmed by others. Overall, it’s the perfect map to test players’ competitive edge and is reminiscent of those used in competitive Smash play.
