Dolphins RT Austin Jackson Placed on IR

Date:

The Miami Dolphins have placed first round draft pick, Austin Jackson, on injured reserve. An ankle injury is what placed Jackson on the IR. This designation will ensure he will miss at least four games. Barring any setbacks, he will be able to return in Week 6.

PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Friday.

Jackson was a first round draft pick out of USC by the Dolphins back in the 2020 NFL Draft. During his three years in college, he was selected to the First Team All-Pac 12 once, in 2019. He forewent his senior season to enter the draft.

He played in 13 of 16 games during his rookie season (starting 12), and every single game of the 2021 season (starting all but one). In each of his first two seasons, he played 95 percent of the Dolphins’ offensive snaps. As stated above, he’ll miss at least four games after being placed on IR.
