Dell Signs European Distribution Deal With HTC Vive

Date:

Last month HTC Vive announced its remote collaboration tool selection, the Vive XR Suite, designed to help businesses adapt to staff working from home. That’s all good if you’ve got the hardware but for those that haven’t and are looking to invest, HTC Vive and Dell have now partnered up to offer enterprise customers in Europe an easy one stop solution.

Dell - HTC Vive

The distribution deal will give Dell customers access to various Vive setups and accessories, as well as the Vive Enterprise warranty and services such as the XR Suite.

Currently, Dell’s UK website lists most of HTC Vive‘s hardware options, with the Vive Pro, Vive Pro Eye, Vive Focus Plus, Vive Cosmos and Vive Cosmos Elite all listed. While none of the prices on Dell’s website includes VAT, even with it added the Vive Pro Eye comes in at £1,074, a significant chunk cheaper than HTC Vive’s own £1,299.00 listing.

“Building a workforce’s IT solution has never been more of a challenge, but the rise of remote working presents a huge opportunity to rethink how collaboration takes place,” said Graham Wheeler, general manager of HTC EMEA, in a statement. “HTC Vive is excited to work with Dell in EMEA to add XR options to the workplace. We’ve seen organisations save more than 40% on design time when using VR 3D modelling, and deliver complex training with high engagement rates – XR is very much the future.”

This is just the latest effort by HTC Vive to offer simpler enterprise solutions for those companies wishing to utilise XR for any number of use cases. Alongside the Vive XR Suite October also saw the company create two Vive Cosmos bundles specifically for the UK and Germany combined with GIGABYTE’s AORUS 15G laptop. The setup saw Vive software pre-installed as well as an automatic “VR mode” to optimise  CPU, GPU, and fan usage.

HTC Vive’s efforts haven’t purely been focused on attracting new customers, it has also been rewarding developers on Viveport by giving them 100% revenue from sales of their titles until year-end. For further updates from HTC Vive, keep reading VRFocus.
