DEER LAKE, N.L. — The Deer Lake Regional Airport has been recognized for its health and safety measures implemented in response to COVID-19.
The airport has received Airport Health Accreditation from the Airports Council International (ACI).
A news release from the airport says safety and security have always been a top priority at the airport.
The accreditation acknowledges the efforts the airport has made to provide a safe airport experience for all travellers which is in line with the recommended health measures established in the ACI Aviation Business Restart and Recovery guidelines and International Civil Aviation Organization’s Council Aviation Recovery Task Force recommendations, along with industry best practices.
The airport says it worked hard to receive this global accreditation and will continue working hard to reassure the travelling public that we are doing everything to ensure our airport is at the top of its game for health and safety — now, and in the future.
Passengers flying through the Deer Lake Regional Airport will notice many changes that have been implemented in response to COVID-19 to ensure their health and safety. The airport has videos that show what to expect with flying through the airport.
