Manche Splitgate players are confused by the acronym “BFB” in-game.

This isn’t uncommon. As gaming advances, its vocabulary grows, as well. Players may quickly find themselves out of the loop should they not be keeping up with the latest phrases and slang. Some still find themselves confused on “nerf” and “buff,” believe it or not, despite those terms now being cornerstones of competitive language.

Here’s what BFB means in Splitgate.

BFB quite literally stands for “Big Friggin’ (F***in’) Bat.” It is the name of a melee weapon that is, in fact, a large baseball bat.

The weapon is extremely powerful in-game—hence its moniker. It’s considered a one-shot weapon that can take opponents down in a single 150-point hit. It doesn’t have the capability to perform headshots, so a multiplier isn’t available or, in reality, necessary when using this weapon. Controller players can take advantage of aim assist, however.

The BFB doesn’t make players invincible, however. Those looking to wield its awesome power on the battlefield should make sure they aren’t about to get gunned down, first. It does have semi-decent range due in part to its size and can be viable at medium-distance.

Splitgate is currently in a permanent beta stage and unveiled its next competitive season, Season 0.
