Data Natives Unlimited 2020 was a huge success. We brought together 5,000 attendees, over 150 speakers, incredible partners, and fantastic volunteers. Delivered by a team that put their heart and soul into the event, we set out to create something unique; an online conference that felt every part as good as the offline events of previous years.
As part of Data Natives Unlimited 2020, our DN Unlimited Hackathon brought over 500 hackers, 15 mentors, and the support of companies like Bayer, Flying Health, and Vision Health Pioneers together to create new and innovative solutions in social impact, data protection and cybersecurity, healthcare and data accessibility, and more.
And our Open Forums with the likes of Berlin Partner and Alibaba delivered unparalleled information and takeaways for all our attendees, inspiring the community to take action and innovate.
Finally, Data Natives x VentureBeat Transform saw two flagship AI events come together in July 2021. During the week-long VentureBeat event, hosted by our own Stewart Rogers, we delivered a half-day Data Natives segment that kicked off with a thought-provoking opening speech from our CEO and founder, Elena Poughia. We continued with remarkable insights from Shamala Hinrichsen, Toby Walsh, Kaoutar Chennaf, Thorsten Dittmar, Juan Carlos Medina Serrano, Bart de Witte, Caroline Lair, Taryn Andersen, and Whurley.
The Data Natives We Know and Love
But nothing beats the authentic, in-person Data Natives we know and love, so we’ve moved from our regular November date to March next year. The shift to 2022 allows us – with exemplary levels of safety for all – to return to an in-person conference as well as providing an outstanding online experience.
We’ll see you in Berlin once more for 14 days of dynamic, educational, and inspirational content!

We start with the Data Natives Hackathon and Demo Day between March 10-13, 2022, bringing together the smartest in data, tech, entrepreneurship, activism, and policy-making to solve critical challenges.
Throughout March, we’ll be holding our weekly Open Forum sessions. A weekly portion of live debates with experts in data and tech, these online sessions are the perfect build-up to the big event. From online masterclasses to unconference-style gatherings, we will bring together global audiences to learn.
And we’ll crown the month off with the Data Natives conference and Matchathon, March 22-24, 2022. The Matchathon is a global matchmaking session with no borders – companies, startups, hackers, recruiters, and job seekers are all brought together to create the next big thing. And, as ever, the Data Natives conference will bring thinkers, innovators, and creators in data, AI, and emerging technology under one roof.
