Complexity slow down Sinners train at EPL

Date:

Analysts and fans were questioning whether Benjamin “blameF” Bremer could lead his team out of Group B with a stand-in and a recently acquired player in Niels Christian “NaToSaphiX” Sillassen and Patrick “es3tag” Hansen. Their opening game certainly did not inspire confidence as their initial loss against forZe seemed to cement people’s beliefs that the Dallas-based team was not ready to put up a fight in Group B, but the second day proved more fruitful.

A 2-0 victory against Sinners has injected much-needed confidence in the European squad, who are now sitting on a 1-1 record heading into the matchups against the three teams who had been perceived as the main favorites: G2, Virtus.pro, and OG.

No Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke, no problem. Complexity’s remaining stars stepped up to the occasion, with blameF, Valentin “poizon” Vasilev, and es3tag taking turns in providing round-winning performances.

poizon and blameF led the charge for Complexity

blameF opened Vertigo with an incredible pistol round, which saw the Danish IGL take down four members of the Czech squad. Complexity were able to maintain the pressure for the following four rounds before a solid hold of the B-bombsite from Sinners produced their first defeat, making it 4-1. The European squad’s T side was marked by poizon‘s ability to find opening duels on the A-bombsite, allowing his team to consistently find the advantage and closing the half 9-6.

The T side saw Sinners claw back the deficit and equalize 11-11, but an inspiring performance by blameF and poizon made it impossible for the Czechs to truly take control of the game. Adam “NEOFRAG” Zouhar failed to replicate the numbers he displayed against G2, allowing Complexity to steal Sinners’ pick 16-12 after a dramatic half-buy round.

beastik and company seemed to have found some hope on the opening rounds of Nuke. After converting the pistol and the following anti-ecos, Sinners led 3-0 but were unable to keep up the intensity, trailing 4-6 after ten rounds. Not planning on going down without a fight, a heroic eco-round gave Sinners the opportunity to keep hold of the half, closing it 7-8.

Despite Sinners converting the first two rounds of their T side, a dynamic CT defense by Complexity gave little space for a comeback, shutting down beastik‘s boys and extending their lead 13-9. With the series on the line. Sinners began clawing back round after round in a remarkable display of individual skill, equalizing 13-13. The good times came to an end for the offensive side as Complexity converted a low buy round, shutting down Sinners 16-14, 2-0.
