Every 60 seconds in Africa, a minute passes.

I personally wouldn’t necessarily say there’s a group of death but given his qualifier performance there’s a chance Dark doesn’t get to the Ro16 which is just bizarre.

Somehow ended up being a pretty nice set of groups!

Some weak players who seem doomed to finish in last place, but the fight between 2nd/3rd could be pretty tight in a lot of these

AdministratorHey HP can you redo everything youve ever done because i have a small complaint?

Which would be the first time since 2015 GSL Season 2 he doesn’t get to the Ro16

Dark has a tough group if he can’t play his best yet.
As for Cure, he should be qualify 100% since I don’t see him losing to both Armani and sOs, and Bomber is free.
INno has a tough group with 2 protosses and a good zerg so hopefully he manages to get through.
I don’t see ByuN get out of his group alive, there is a low chance he upsets PartinG, Patience would be like 50-50 and Bunny 40-60…
Maru has a relatively easy group for him, RagnaroK he always beats it seems, Dream is doable in TvT and NightMare is not that good.
Group A will be difficult for SpeCial but he can do it with good preparation so I would not be surprised, but Trap / Solar is still the obvious choice.
Group B I see TaeJa/Zest or Zest/Dark, sorry Creator.

Other side note, Dark and Solar are in their 20th consecutive Code S.

No group of death in this one. I think F looks the strongest of the bunch though.

Byun handled Cure and Dream.
He is quiet likely to qualify.

Taeja and Dark is the destined rivalry lol. They seem to be on one group every GSL.

Don’t practice until you can get it right, practice until you can’t get it wrong.

ByuN is favoured vs Bunny and slightly favoured vs Patience in my eyes, appart from that I agree with you.

Well if you only look at the results, you can say that. But I looked at the Cure vs ByuN and ByuN vs Hurricane games (only ones that Creighton was given to cast), and I’d say Cure kinda direspected ByuN going two times in a row for the proxy 2 rax, and falling a bit behind due to that. Bunny being good at TvT and having played competitive games I give him the slight edge since it’ll be played offline afaik. As for Patience, he beat INno so yeah as I said 50-50.
He can get out but it will be very hard I’m afraid.

I mean, he’s definitely not a sure bet to get out of that group, but on a whole I’m sure he’s pretty happy with the group he was given. Patience can lose to anybody and Bunny is very good but not unbeatable especially given Byun’s recent TvT scalps. I wouldn’t be surprised if Byun bombed out this time around just because it’s been a while, but it wouldn’t be because of the strength of the group. Even PartinG is probably one of the more volatile top seeds you could have.

Ganzi beat me without stim. Ostojiy beat me with a nydus. Siphonn beat me with probes. Revival beat my sentry-immortal all-in.

I can see patience, the madlad crushing all reddit dreams by qualifying over ByuN. It will be glorious to witness

Will be fun to see how much Bomber has improved since last time

Spear has been around since the beginnings of StarCraft 2, but I never saw him play a televised event. I will definitely watch his matches.

I only play StarCraft on N64.

Some of these look like pretty amazing games!

At least 4 groups could’ve qualified as a “group of death”… just the sheer amount of talent in them

Always going to be excited to see Byun back, but a part of me also wants to celebrate a last hurrah for soO before he leaves for the military..

Byun and Parting have been practice partners since season 1 so they both should have a good feel for each other.

Hopefully he can delay his military service so those games can actually be played though.

Looks like a bunch of fun groups especially the last one.

It’s weird seeing group A have 3 players from the top 12 of last season and seeing group D with no players from the top 12 (cure was top 16). I know it’s because it counts points from other events but seems like a shortcoming of doing it that way
