Best gaming keyboard deals

Published

on

There are two core types of switches: Mechanical and membrane. Mechanical keyboards are often the top choice for competitive gamers because their responsiveness and personalized feel make them a reliable weapon.

Mechanical keyboards have a long lifespan and provide a few other benefits. They are reliable and offer a first-class typing experience. Keyboards with mechanical switches are typically more expensive, louder, and heavier than their membrane counterparts, though.

Membrane keyboards are often made from layers of pliable material. These keyboards are almost silent and cost considerably less than mechanical keyboards. While membrane keyboards are more affordable than their mechanical siblings, they lack the variety and customization of mechanical alternatives.

The good news is that first-class gaming keyboards are available in every form and price range. Below are some of the best deals on quality gaming keyboards.

Complexity sign peacemaker

Published

on

The Dallas-based organization has inked the Brazilian coach after parting ways with Jamie “keita” Hall.

Complexity have not taken long to fill in the spot left by keita, as the British skipper and the North American organization ended a two-year and 48-event stint together on July 15 shortly after the team failed to put on a strong performance at IEM Cologne in a middling season.

Luis “peacemaker” Tadeu has been chosen to succeed the outgoing Brit and will take over Complexity starting with ESL Pro League Season 14 and BLAST Premier Fall Groups when the player break comes to an end.

peacemaker will be back on the international stage with Complexity

The 33-year-old had been in charge of Imperial‘s Brazilian squad since May, a job he took up following a short three-month break after leaving MAD Lions, the team had been in charge of for a year. During his tenure he helped the Danish underdog team climb through in the ranking and breach the top 20 alongside captain Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen.

The coaching change comes amid a broader renewal in the Complexity ranks, as William “RUSH” Wierzba was moved to the bench on Thursday to make way for a third Dane in the starting lineup with the acquisition of Patrick “es3tag” Hansen.

“I’ve followed Peacemaker’s career closely over the years and kept in touch with him,” Complexity‘s Founder and CEO, Jason Lake, told HLTV.

“He brings a tremendous amount of wisdom and experience to the coaching role and I’m thrilled we can finally work together. Now we just need to get our team to Brazil so Luis and COL can win a big event in front of the amazing Brazilian fans!”

Complexity are now:

Denmark Benjamin “blameF” Bremer
Denmark Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke
Denmark Patrick “es3tag” Hansen
Australia Justin “jks” Savage
Bulgaria Valentin “poizon” Vasilev

Brazil Luis “peacemaker” Tadeu (coach)

United States William “RUSH” Wierzba (benched)

ESL Pro League Season 14 team list set

Published

on

The 24 teams that will compete at ESL Pro League Season 14 have been set in stone with the addition of the top squads in the ESL World Ranking, as the final seven invites to the tournament were handed out to the highest placed teams outside of those already qualified.

The IEM Cologne quarter-finalists, Gambit, were the first to be included, followed by Heroic, Virtus.pro, BIG and FURIA, four top 10 teams in the ranking used to hand out invites, with Spirit and OG remaining as the last two to make the cut.

Gambit were first in line to get an ESL Pro League Season 14 spot

Previously, the first to be confirmed had been the 12 partnered teams that don’t change season to season: Natus Vincere, G2, Astralis, FaZe, NIP, Vitality, mousesports, Liquid, Complexity, Evil Geniuses, ENCE and fnatic.

Five teams had then found their way to ESL’s flagship league through ESEA Premier in three different regions. Entropiq and Sinners won seasons in Europe, TeamOne and Bad News Bears did the same in North America, and Renegades made it through the Australia and New Zealand division.

ESL Pro League Season 14, which was originally scheduled to be played on LAN in Malta but will finally have to be played online, will kick off after the player break from August 16 to September 12.

V4 Future Sports Festival returns with studio LAN event

Published

on

V4 Future Sports Festival will make its comeback in 2021 after a one-year hiatus following its first two events in 2018 and 2019 with a ~$380,000 tournament that will feature LAN finals, played in Budapest on November 14-21.

Several qualifiers for different countries and regions will be set up between August 14 and September 5, followed by an online league on September 15-October 7 that will grant four teams a ticket to the LAN event.

The V4 LAN finals will take place in November in a studio environment

There will be six qualifiers in total, giving out eight spots at the online league. Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic/Slovakia and Europe will each get one spot, while two teams per qualifier will make it through in Southern Europe (Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia) and Eastern Europe (Romania, Bulgaria and Macedonia).

The eight sides that prevail in the initial qualifiers will then play a double elimination best-of-three online league, with the top four advancing to the LAN event.

Other than the four teams from the online league, the 12-team LAN will also feature four teams recommended and invited by the V4 countries’ national esports federations based on results and achievements in their respective countries, as well as four invites that have yet to be announced.
