Seer’s kit will take more skill than most Apex Legends players have probably assumed, Respawn Entertainment Lead Game Designer Daniel Klein explained Wednesday.
With about a week left to go until the Aug. 3 launch of Apex Legends: Emergence, buzz about the newest character’s kit has been a hot topic of discussion as players are excited to try out Seer for the first time.
While Seer’s abilities were first officially described during the EA Play Live 2021 show, players didn’t really have much to go off of in terms of how they could play out in game, until now.
So actually hitting the thing is really hard and there’s play for the enemy to dodge (you get plenty of warning). If you DO get hit though, you’re revealed for a real long time.

As mentioned by Klein on Twitter, who was elaborating on an article by IGN’s Stella Chung on the new Legend, something he feels that has not been talked about enough is that one of Seer’s moves will be harder to master than it sounds on paper.
This certainly makes sense given that the idea of automated microdrones being used to give away other players’ locations could definitely raise balancing concerns. Thankfully it seems that the new ability will require “super high precision” as unlike Bloodhound’s Eye of the Allfather, which scans in a wide cone, Seer’s tactical is a straight-line shot that is only capable of marking one enemy.
As previously emphasized by Respawn’s Chad Grenier, Seer’s biggest strength is his precise, lingering information, and that he is catered to those who prefer to play stealthily.
Seer is similar to Bloodhound in that he is also all about tracking enemies. However, he accomplishes this in a different way thanks to his unique kit.
