Lavazza’s new coffee machine is equipped with an intelligent chip that integrates Alexa’s functionalities: a voice command is enough to order a perfect espresso
When we buy a high-tech product – the latest smartphone model, a high-performance PC or a food processor with dozens of accessories – there is always the joker friend who comments mockingly: ‘nice… does it make coffee too? Well, if we buy the Alexa voice assistant we can now give our friend the answer he deserves: ‘Yes, it also makes coffee. Do you prefer short or long? Amazon’s home automation accessory has in fact just learned how to make a great espresso. How? Thanks to a partnership with Lavazza. The new Voicy coffee machine from the ‘A Modo Mio’ system is equipped with a Wi-Fi-connected chip that integrates the Alexa voice assistant. Thanks to this technology, a voice command is all it takes to ‘order’ your favourite coffee. Users can set their preferences – length of coffee, type of pod, serving temperature – and simply say: “Alexa, make me an espresso”.

The first voice-controlled coffee machine
The partnership between Lavazza and Amazon is a real treat for home automation lovers. Thanks to the intelligent software developed by the two companies, users can store their preferences and enjoy perfect coffee every time. All with a simple voice command. Using the Piacere Lavazza app, users can also program the coffee to be prepared at a pre-set time (for example, as soon as the alarm clock goes off), so that they can enjoy a personalised coffee experience, just like at the bar. What’s more, the smartphone app monitors the amount of capsules available and automatically orders new ones when the ones in the cupboard are about to run out. A nice convenience! Thanks to the new intelligent “A Modo Mio” system, every customer will be “at the centre of innovative, high-quality coffee experiences at home” and will be able to enjoy “a coffee experience with infinite possibilities via voice and app. With simple voice commands such as, for example, “Alexa, make me an espresso”, “Alexa, play my playlist”, “Alexa, tell me something curious about Voicy”, customers will be able to access the countless functions of the machine and Echo devices and perhaps enjoy a delicious coffee break with pleasant background music thanks to the connection with streaming services such as Amazon Music, Spotify and Deezer”.
