Selling agent Andrew Downing, of Ray White Adelaide City, said the majestic sky home was sure to impress.

He said the penthouse held a prime position in the 2018-built Kodo complex and was set 30 storeys above street level.

“The vendors bought the property off the plan and because they bought it before (the building) came out of the ground, they were able to make some changes to the design, which included the ceiling heights and increasing the footprint,” Mr Downing said.

“As a result, the home is even more spectacular than originally envisioned.

“You also get these amazing panoramic views from the wraparound verandas, so you have views to the beach, the hills, the parklands and, of course, the city.

“It’s a very impressive home (and) we already had interest from locals and from a buyer in Sydney who plans to fly down to view it.”

Designed with entertaining in mind, the penthouse features three large bedrooms, including a master suite with an opulent ensuite and private balcony access.

A designer kitchen overlooks the open-plan living and dining space, which in turn offers access to the large wraparound balcony.

An impressive alfresco space features a barbecue, fridge and sink, while landscaped gardens are taken care off by an automated irrigation system.

Other features include secure video intercoms and lift access, two side-by-side underground carparks, and access to the Podium Sky Garden with a community entertaining area and vegetable garden.

Mr Downing said demand for penthouses and apartments had exploded since Covid.

According to PropTrack, 523 units – which includes apartments and penthouses – sold across Adelaide between May 2022 and April 2023, with the average home now selling 8.5 per cent more than a year ago.

“Covid has taken apartment living to a whole new phase,” Mr Downing said.

“Adelaideans have traditionally been a bit slow on getting behind high density living but we’re getting more and more people now who are looking for quality apartments.

“Funnily enough though, it’s usually downsizers or semi-retirees who end up buying penthouses, people who are used to a huge footprint but no longer want the upkeep that comes with a house and a yard.”

The penthouse last sold in 2019 for $2,421,728, according to CoreLogic.
