We know that the traditional “sit and get” classroom will not help us advance towards educational equity or promote deeper learning skills our students need to succeed. The long game of systems-change work is critical to advancing learner-centered education, but how can the system support the transition to learner-centered education?

In the latest CompetencyWorks report, released today: Teachers Making the Shift to Equitable, Learner-Centered Education, written by Wendy Surr, Kim Carter, and Andrea Stewart, explores just this – how educators can tap mental models, motivations, and moves to do so.

In addition to the report, in the coming weeks, CompetencyWorks will continue to share out a set of accompanying blogs, resources, and exercises that practitioners can explore to put this work into practice in their classrooms and districts today. You can find more about that here. And, on October 11th, we invite you to attend a webinar featuring the report authors, along with two educators, who will discuss findings and implications from the report!
