Lebanese bank Credit Libanais has joined forces with Codebase Technologies and Visa to launch an instant, fully electronic know your customer (e-KYC) onboarding mobile application for a virtual prepaid card.

The solution is aimed at the unbanked population in Lebanon and is the country’s first of its kind, according to the participating companies.
Credit Libanais says it worked closely with Banque du Liban, the central bank of Lebanon, to ensure the approval of the initiative.
The prepaid card, built using the Digibanc Suite from Codebase, enables domestic and international online payments.
