STAR Brisbane Lions recruit Josh Dunkley and his netballer girlfriend have paid $2.265m for a home in Paddington as they put down roots in the Sunshine State.

The 25-year-old made the move from Sydney in October after being traded from the Western Bulldogs to the Lions in a six-year deal believed to be worth about $700,000.

Records show the midfielder and his partner, Tippah Dwan, who plays Super Netball for Adelaide, bought the property in December.

Selling agent Sacha Hennessy from Place Estate Agents declined to comment.

Dwan’s contract is due to expire at the end of this year and the couple are reportedly excited to make Brisbane their new home.

There’s a good sized lawn for kicking a footy.

They recently stole the limelight when they stepped out as a power couple at the 2022 Brownlow Medal awards night in Melbourne.

The two-storey, character home they have bought is in one of Paddington’s best streets and sits on a 405 sqm block.

The home has a covered back deck for barbecues and entertaining.

There are five bedrooms, with four upstairs and a guest bedroom or home office downstairs.

Features include multiple living and entertaining areas, a wine cellar, a pool, a covered back deck with a built-in barbecue and outdoor kitchen, and a large, flat lawn allowing for plenty room to kick a footy.

The home has a contemporary feel with modern features such as the kitchen with stone benchtops and a walk-in pantry, but there are also traditional touches like French doors.

There is also a powder room and a second living area.

Privacy is protected by established hedges and no neighbours to the back of the property.

The couple will enjoy being only minutes away from the Terrace lifestyle precinct.

And should a family be on the cards, quality schools like Ithaca Creek State School and Kelvin Grove State College are within easy reach.

The house retains many of its original character features.
