100T vs C9 LCS Summer Split 2022 Playoffs

Cloud9 secured a spot in LCS Summer Finals, and a Worlds groups spot, while 100 Thieves will have to play in the Lower Bracket Finals for their second chance.

100T vs C9 – Game 1 (0-1)

The first blood of the series was on the 100T side after Abbe/Closer duo punished Jensen for blowing his Flash on an early gank. 100T also won the Herald fight, despite giving up the objective, which meant they could establish a 1k early lead. The lead stayed around that level all throughout the mid game with 100T controlling the map overall. But just before the third drake they overcommitted for Blaber and C9 had an amazing turn. After getting four kills, C9 secured a Baron. After a 3-for-2 team fight for 100T during mid game, the Thieves gambled on C9 won’t try for a drake and lost, giving their opponent the Cloud Soul. However, they got a Baron in return, which essentially tied the gold.

100T could not get much out of their Baron buff push and it looked like the game would be decided on Elder. Unfortunately, Jensen got picked off just 50 seconds before the drake. But C9 got a kill during the 4v5 and Jensen decided to Teleport to mid lane to end the game. C9 managed to delay the backs, which Jensen the opportunity to kill the Nexus.

100T vs C9 – Game 2 (1-1)

Spicy draft for Game 2, with Jensen busting out his Anivia once again.

 100T was the team that drafted for early game, while C9 opted to scale, but they couldn’t get a good early start. They tried to dive bot but C9 bot lane outplayed and got the first blood. Which also meant the first Herald for C9. Even though C9 had a consistent gold lead throughout the mid game, 100T did a good job controlling the drakes and were able to put themselves on Soul point. At the Soul fight, Abbedagge showed that he did not care for the enemy scaling and got a three men knock-up, and secured his team the Ocean Soul with a quadra kill.

With the ace at the Soul, 100T also secured a Baron that gave them a 5k gold lead, but they did not get any towers with the buff. In the end, the Thieves did not need any objectives as Huni found another great engage in the mid lane which led to an ace, allowing 100T to tie the series.

100T vs C9 – Game 3 (1-2)

Once again a slow start to the game, with no kills at eight minutes but C9 had over 1k gold lead due to their better laning and they also got the first Herald. The first blood then also went to Jensen who already had nearly 30 cs lead in lane. Despite 100T having some good moments where they were winning fights, C9 managed to grow their gold and drake lead during the mid game. They let 100T tie the drakes at 2-2 after a fight with no kills, but they got a Baron in return for it. C9 increased their lead to a massive 9k difference with that first Baron buff. There was a standoff before the fifth drake when Blaber and Fudge found a great engage and chased 100T to their tier three mid. And as they got an ace, they were able to finish the game and put themselves one game away from the Finals.

100T vs C9 – Game 4 (1-3)

Cloud9 came into their match point drafting the new ADC Nilah, which looked great early as Berserker got the first blood with an aggressive Flash play, also giving his team the first drake. While C9 got ahead in the bot and mid lanes, 100T was focused on the top side with the first Herald. But Ssumday was not present in the Soul point fight and with their 2k gold advantage, C9 secured their third drake. Their early lead halted once the teamfights started as Closer found a couple of great engages one after another and 100T delayed the Soul. They also started the Baron, and finished, after a couple of kills, but C9 found a great exit fight and aced 100T.

Despite 100T’s best attempts at not allowing their opponent to take the Soul, C9 came out ahead in the last fight with a very tight margin after a great Berserker play and secured the Infernal Soul. But 100T wasn’t about to back down as they snuck another Baron, this with time all members getting out. But at the end, it all came down to Elder Drake. And it was once again C9 who found the engage. After four kills, and without the need to take the objective, C9 just pushed for the end.
