Franchises are typically kept up due to the knack for creating great gameplay that’s sometimes mixed in with a great story. Sometimes those franchises have little to no story. This makes for a lot of interesting creative choices most of the time which happen to take games in a cute direction.
A lot of the time adding to the cute comfortable feel of the game can make it that much better for both the player experience and for selling merchandise. These are the video game franchises that have some of the cutest designs. The games will be rated solely on aesthetic though the gameplay will be mentioned as well.
10/10 Undertale
Undertale can have some dark imagery that’s kind of unsettling toward the latter half of the game. What makes this game so cute is the exterior and 8-bit art it chose to go to. Nothing feels conventional but it’s the unconventionality of the way things look that makes them pleasant to the eye.
The ability to have a pacifist run also adds to the adorable nature of the game. It gives players the choice to save everyone in sight and because of that creates some heartfelt antics.
9/10 Katamari
The Katamari series has probably some of the most intense gameplay that this list has to offer. Players have to roll a ball that gets everything stuck to it. This ball starts by getting small things like paper clips, but as the game progresses, players will be getting people and trees stuck to their ball to achieve a certain size of the ball for the king.
The gameplay might sound kind of like the main character’s an evil villain, but this quickly changes when players find out that the characters they play are cute micro creatures with soft designs. The art style of the game is also easy on the eyes which makes the gameplay seem a lot less evil.
8/10 Pokemon
Pokemon does have some pretty awesome-looking creatures that players can capture. With that said, it also has a lot of first-level pokemon and even some higher-level pokemon that are adorable. This is a franchise anyone who’s played knows can bring a lot of calm. There’s a serenity to catching and battling Pokemon as players try and be the very best.

The different graphical styles that the games have gone through also bring in upbeat exciting aspects that some other games don’t have.
7/10 Sonic
The Sonic franchise is slept on by people who are not fans of the game in terms of how cute it can get. There is a giant purple guy in the series whose name is Big the Cat. He will remind many players of Totoro from the Studio Ghibli film.
The game is known for being fast and action-packed. Sometimes it is, but if players notice the game’s setting a lot of the time they’re as cute as they are interesting. Also, the little tiny Cheese the Chao that follows around Cream is one of the most adorable characters in gaming.
6/10 Nintendogs
The Nintendogs series lasted for quite some time. This was a pretty big hit for Nintendo as it allowed players to raise a dog on their DS. Players were able to interact with their dogs by using the stylus which created an original experience at the time.
The game provides players with nice bubbly colors in any setting that they choose to go to. Having a virtual dog and watching it grow from the time it’s a puppy to a fully grown dog is a treat.
5/10 LittleBigPlanet
LittleBigPlanet has one of the most enticing settings on this list. The backdrop is made up of many different textures that are reminiscent of cloth. Having this be the backdrop makes players want to go through the screen and touch the variations of material.
Sackboy is also as cute as ever. Having him have to navigate the game’s menu by using a giant PlayStation controller is probably one of the best things gamers could have ever received.
4/10 Ni No Kuni
Ni No Kuni takes on the Studio Ghibli art style. The characters have distinct round anime features. In the game’s setting, there is a ton of color that pops making it visually stunning. A lot of the enemies are drawn in a way where even if they’re threatening would make a cute stuffed animal in someone’s room.
The art style carries so much on its shoulders in these games. Ni No Kuni’s story is also captivating with charming characters that players will want to learn more about.
3/10 Kirby
The Kirby franchise has got to be one of the cutest things on this list. Kirby has a cute simple round design that makes people wish they could have cute little Kirby pets running around. The great thing is they sell huge Kirby stuffed animals that might do the trick.

Besides the stuffed animals the games are adorable. The backdrops all feel like something out of a cotton candy dream and the change in Kirby’s appearance when he swallows new enemies never disappoints.
2/10 Animal Crossing
Animal Crossing is iconic for being adorable. The design of everything in the game puts players in a somewhat hypnotic trance with its calming allure. This is one of those games where players can sit back and do the tasks that are given calmly.
The decorating of players’ houses and characters can also lead to some adorable choices. This series is overall a recipe for a grand time full of relaxation. The gameplay also suits the vibes perfectly with not too much stress or strain on players.
1/10 Mario
Mario himself might be a little stubby Italian man that a lot of people might not find to be cute. What the Mario Franchise does is bring out a magnitude of cute locations and characters to be explored. In every single Mario game or game that’s part of the Franchise, players can find enemies or other characters that’ll have them awwing at the screen.
All of the games do a great job at creating a calming flow even in difficult platforming challenges. The music that the games provide is also upbeat and joyous for the most part.
