YFM Equity Partners continues team expansion by hiring Nick Holt as portfolio director to cover investments in South Western UK.
Holt joins the firm from K-12 education provider GEMS Education where he was responsible for corporate development and operations across Europe.
He also had 13 years of experience in private equity in deal origination, negotiation and execution across restaurants, pubs, software, healthcare, education, IT services and fintech.
Holt said, “Having worked with some of the members of the YFM team previously, I am genuinely excited to be joining a dynamic team who form strong relationships with the management teams they support.”

YFM hired chartered accountant Stephen Murray from the Royal Bank of Scotland earlier in the month as investment director to strengthen the firm’s businesses across the Midlands in the UK.
YFM typically invests between £2m and £10m per transaction in UK regions.
It closed its second buyout fund in 2019 on £80m.
The vehicle came two years after the £45m close of its debut fund in the strategy, with almost three-quarters of the capital in Buy-Out-Fund II coming from existing YFM backers.
Recent deals of the firm include sealing a 2x return selling rail project business CPMS to French construction engineering company Egis last year.
