Microsoft Corporation reported in its quarterly earnings call Tuesday that the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are its fastest-selling consoles to date.
In Microsoft’s quarterly earnings call, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella had a lengthy statement that finished off by stating Xbox’s various record breaks.
Nadella began the call talking about gaming being the largest category in the entertainment world and that Microsoft is looking to expand their opportunity “to reach the world’s 3 billion gamers wherever and whenever they play.”
According to Nadella, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles are the fastest-selling consoles to date in the history of Xbox. This is also coupled with the fact that these consoles have been the most sold live to date than any previous generation.

The Chairman and CEO also emphasized the fact that Microsoft—with their Xbox consoles— continue to lead in the fast-growing cloud market, “we continue to lead in the fast-growing cloud gaming market with last month.”
Last month, Microsoft made Xbox Cloud gaming available on PCs as well as Apple phones and tablets in over 22 countries via the browser.
After Nadella’s statement, CFO of Microsoft, Amy Hood mentioned Microsoft’s gaming revenue growth.
“In gaming, revenue increased 11% and 7% in constant currency. Xbox hardware revenue grew 172% and 163% in constant currency, driven by demand for our new consoles.”
