Latest – Roster Reveal could arrive soon

WWE 2K22 news has been extremely scarce, but that’s about to change as a major announcement has now been confirmed.

We’re mainly expecting core details like Cover Star and Release Date to be revealed, potentially a new trailer, but the WWE 2K22 roster remains one big unanswered question.

If the latest leaks turn out to ring true, WWE 2K22 could be just over 6 weeks away from launching worldwide.

Whether the official roster reveal lands with the other major announcements or in the near future, the wait should almost be over.

We’ve got more details here as we count down to the WWE 2K22 reveal confirmed for later this week.

ROAD TO RELEASE: When will 2K22 be available to fans?

With the cancellation of WWE 2K21 throwing a wrench into their regular schedule, they’ve had to shift gears and will be looking to right the ship with WWE 2K22.

One thing that’s for certain is WWE 2K22 has major pressure to deliver, as this could be the last shot at saving the series.

Roster Reveal

We don’t yet have any official reveals when it comes to the full roster for WWE 2K22, but we can get a good idea of when it’ll happen by looking at how WWE 2K20 and other recent installments handled this.

WWE 2K20 dropped their big roster reveal all at once on October 10, 2019 with Smosh Games, which was ten days before the title released on October 22, 2019.

With the delay, we’re hoping to learn more about WWE 2K22 sometime in January 2022.

THE ICON: Since he’s headed to AEW, you won’t see Sting in 2K22

With a whole year off thanks to WWE 2K21’s cancellation followed by a delay, there has been plenty of turnover and some names that won’t be seen in WWE 2K titles for the foreseeable future.

There have been conflicting reports and speculation about whether recently released WWE superstars will still be included in the WWE 2K22 roster, but as of now we don’t expect non-contracted talent to make the cut.

With that standard in mind, here’s every WWE 2K20 roster member we expect to not be in WWE 2K22:

  • Adam Cole
  • Akam
  • Aleister Black
  • Andrade
  • Ariya Daivari

With each of these names having departed WWE through the last few years, it’s unlikely they’ll find their way back into the final version of WWE 2K22.

Who will be the highest rated superstar in WWE 2K22?

One of the big questions going into a new WWE 2K title is always how everyone is rated, and specifically who gets the honor of being the highest rated superstar in the game.

WWE 2K20’s top roster overalls were Brock Lesnar (93), The Rock (93), Roman Reigns (92), Becky Lynch (90), and Ronda Rousey (90).

We can expect Lesnar, Rock, Reigns, and Lynch to all be still in that top tier when WWE 2K22 arrives, and they’ll likely be joined near the top by Drew McIntyre, Sasha Banks, and Bayley.

While ratings aren’t a situation where they can really blunder too much, it’s just one more way in which WWE 2K22 has to set itself apart from the mistakes of WWE 2K20.
