After an arduous journey to the top of the LCO, The Chiefs gear up for the biggest test of their careers: Worlds 2022. Challengers from across the globs converge on Mexico City in the hopes of qualifying to the group stage and continuing their climb to the top. Can The Chiefs crack the top 16?
Proving themselves Oceanic champions was the easy part. Now, The Chiefs will take the next step towards Worlds glory at the Play-In–kicking off on Friday morning.
The Chiefs must finish in the top four to keep their Worlds Group Stage hopes alive, and it will be no easy feat as they navigate their way through five squads equally hungry to cement themselves in the top 16.
Amongst the challengers lies PCS runner-ups Beyond Gaming, LJL winners DetonatioN Gaming, Brazil’s LOUD and NA’s Evil Geniuses.
The LCO champions will open their Play-In account against LEC hopes Fnatic at 10am AEST.

Worlds 2022 Play-In Schedule & Results
The Worlds Play-In consists of two groups of six, with teams playing each opponent once. Each match is a best-of-one. The group winners both proceed to the Worlds Main Event.
Second, third and fourth place finishers will proceed to stage two of the Play-In. Fourth will play third in a best-of-five, with the winner progressing.
The winner will then play the second place finisher from the opposite group–the winner of that best-of-five snatches the final spot in the group stages.
