Blizzard revealed Shadowlands Patch 9.2 Eternity’s End release date, and it’s sooner than many expected. Many have been playing the PTR, testing the new features, and giving Blizzard feedback, and many assumed there were things still to fix. But Blizzard is pushing forward.

And since we know there won’t be a 9.3, there is one striking reason why Blizzard would rush 9.2 out the gate. They are planning to shift focus toward the new expansion and probably hit a fall release date.

It was even a surprise that Blizzard confirmed a 9.2.5 when they plan to add the faction changes. If the development team shifts all their focus on the new expansion, this could give the team a good six to seven months to hit a fall release.

Eternity’s End releases on Feb. 22, three days before Elden Ring releases. Blizzard may be trying to tread on that release, but it’s hard to imagine many choosing World of Warcraft over one of the most anticipated games of the last decade.

As with any new patch, players will have a new Mythic+ and PVP season, a new raid, and a new zone to explore. While Blizzard has had some massive news over the past year or so, things may have finally settled a bit with the acquisition by Microsoft. Blizzard seems to be better than ever at responding to player feedback and there has already been a few systems tweaked during the PTR.
