Wireless Sensor Monitoring Using An Industrial IoT Kit

Date:

The Sentrius MG100/BT510/BT610 Cumulocity IoT Kit from Laird Connectivity is now available through Mouser. This integrated kit collects data from the supplied sensors using a combination of tested wireless sensor monitoring technologies. Through a global low-power cellular (LTE-M/NB-IoT) connection, it transmits it to the cloud.

The Laird Connectivity Pinnacle 100 modem and Sentrius MG100 gateway provide the kit’s electricity. This dynamic pair offers a single, completely integrated solution to collect data from Bluetooth 5-enabled sensors and works with the market-leading Software AG Cumulocity IoT telemetry platform without any issues. By combining the benefits of Bluetooth 5 technology with low-power cellular LTE connectivity (free 60-day trial included). With no requirement for software development, Cumulocity IoT provides quick visibility and control over remote assets for asset tracking, cold chain monitoring, smart buildings, or IIoT systems.

Sentrius BT510 and Sentrius BT610, two tested sensor systems, are included in the set. A multi-sensor platform featuring Bluetooth 5 features like long-range (Coded PHY), security, and BLE beaconing, the Sentrius BT510 combines temperature, motion, open/closed, and impact sensing. The Nordic Semiconductor nRF52840 SoC, which generates advanced processing capability and permits feature-rich application development with 1MB of flash memory, is combined with the long-range Laird Connectivity BL654 Series module in the module.

The Sentrius BT610 sensor transforms battery-operated, IP67-rated wired sensors into sturdy and secure message nodes. The BL654 Series module is also a part of the sensor, giving it access to all Bluetooth 5 features, including LE Coded PHY. For severe IoT environments where dependable wireless connectivity is essential to keeping devices online and running, the Sentrius BT610 is fantastic.
