Who will be the new CEO of Twitter? A friend of Musk or a famous leader…

Date:

Who will be the new CEO of Twitter if Elon Musk takes the step-down poll seriously? In the poll, more than 10 million Twitter users expressed their desire for him to resign as Twitter CEO. Consequently, new Twitter CEO rumors immediately started.

Mr.Beast, Jack Dorsey, and more… Several of the potential candidates have made their intentions clear, and others are the usual suspects for position of this prominence.

Who will be the new CEO of Twitter?

Once he finds someone “foolish enough” to take over, Elon Musk has promised to step down. Twitter CEO and owner Elon Musk is looking for a successor after a rocky 2.5 months, and it is not an easy job. Just recently, an alleged Twitter data breach news that could affect 400 million accounts rocked the Internet. So, if someone takes the job, he or she better be a good “hiker.”

Musk tweeted a poll asking followers on December 18 if he should resign as Twitter CEO less than two months after spending $44 billion to acquire the social media platform. More than half of the nearly 17 million respondents say “yes.” Until the sale of Twitter was finalized, Musk was supposed to act as interim CEO. In a trial in November, he acknowledged this, saying he planned to spend less time on Twitter and hire a new CEO.

The new CEO will have to collaborate with Musk, who also serves as head of Tesla and SpaceX. The second richest man in the world has declared he wants his employees to be more “hardcore,” meaning he wants them to work long hours with considerably less time off or freedom outside of the office. It’s safe to assume that Musk will hold the incoming CEO to the same standard. So, who is foolish enough?

New Twitter CEO search has started: Who will be the new CEO of Twitter?

Some people have already revealed their interests, like former T-Mobile CEO John Legere and famous YouTuber Mr.Beast. While other contenders, such as former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey or Netflix’s co-CEO Reed Hastings, make a list as natural contenders.

So, let’s take a closer look at the potential candidates and find an answer to the question, “who will be the new CEO of Twitter.”

Jack Dorsey

Let’s start with familiar faces. The co-founder and ex-CEO of Twitter has a history of comeback stories for the company.

After contributing to finding Twitter in 2006, Dorsey served as CEO until he was reportedly sacked in 2008 due to his executive management style. After the departure of Twitter CEO Dick Costolo in 2015 on worries about slowing user growth, he came back to the company. Dorsey had previously served as Twitter’s temporary CEO but was promoted to his current position that year.

However, activist investor firm Elliott Management eventually pressured Dorsey into leaving the company. Dorsey stepped down from his position in November of 2021.

Jack Dorsey & Elon Musk’s relationship

Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey are two well-known figures in the tech industry. Elon Musk is the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, while Jack Dorsey is the CEO of Twitter and Square. While they are not directly related, they have had some professional interactions and have publicly expressed admiration for each other’s work.

Musk has been an active user of Twitter and has frequently used the platform to share updates about his companies and make announcements. Dorsey has praised Musk for his work and innovation, particularly in the fields of space exploration and electric vehicles.

In addition to their professional connections, the two have also been involved in various philanthropic endeavors. For example, Musk has donated significantly to organizations focused on education and scientific research, while Dorsey has supported causes related to economic empowerment and social justice.

Overall, while Musk and Dorsey may not have a close personal relationship, they have respected each other’s contributions to the tech industry and demonstrated a shared commitment to using their platforms and resources to impact the world positively.

The relationship seems fine between them. The only problem is that Dorsey has no interest in taking on the CEO role again. It seems like he is not foolish enough.

If you’re wondering, “Who will be the new CEO of Twitter?” Jack Dorsey is currently a long-shot answer. But in the future, things can change quite fast. But maybe another familiar face who wants to do the job would be better for the future of Twitter.

Mr. Beast

Who will be the new CEO of Twitter? The face that almost everyone on the Internet knows, Mr. Beast wants to be a Twitter CEO. Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, who has more subscribers than any other YouTuber, has reportedly requested the position of Twitter CEO. The YouTuber commented a few days after Twitter CEO Elon Musk polled followers on whether or not he should continue in his role. However, Elon Musk’s answer was not what he hoped.

For us, even getting an answer from Elon Musk is a four-bagger.

Who is Mr. Beast?

For the people that already know the face or the name but do not know who he is 24 years old and an American internet celebrity who operates five YouTube channels: MrBeast (his primary channel), Beast Philanthropy, MrBeast 2, MrBeast Gaming, and Beast Reacts.

Donaldson was born on May 7, 1998, in Greenville, North Carolina, a city in the state’s eastern corner. He attended and graduated from the local private school, Greenville Christian Academy. According to a tweet he sent in 2019 after his mother forced him to leave home, he briefly enrolled at East Carolina University before dropping out.

Donaldson began his YouTube career in 2012 when he was just 13 years old. His videos at the time, posted under the handle “MrBeast6000,” mainly covered Minecraft and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and were instructional or humorous in nature. MrBeast is now the most followed on YouTube, with 112 million subscribers.

Below you can find an example of his videos.

Who will be the new CEO of Twitter? It seems like not he or she is not a YouTuber. The recruitment decision belongs to Musk.

However, watching Mr. Beast run a giant corporation like Twitter would be entertaining.

John Legere

All right, now let’s discuss someone who is interested in and qualified for the position. John Legere, the former T-Mobile CEO, tried to reach out to Elon Musk about becoming CEO of Twitter, but the story has not a happy ending…

The initial response to John Legere was prolonged silence, followed by firm “no.”

Who is John Legere?

A former CEO and president of T-Mobile US, John Legere is an American businessman. He had experience at AT&T, Dell, and Global Crossing. As soon as the merger between T-Mobile and Sprint was approved, he stepped down as CEO. Who will be the new CEO of Twitter?

For now, he is not the answer to the “who will be the new CEO of Twitter” question. Could Elon Musk change his mind? Probably, no one on the planet doesn’t know his next move. But in case he reconsiders it, John Legere still wants the job.

Reed Hastings

Now, let’s find a candidate who can be the best fit for Elon Musk. Reed Hastings, co-CEO of Netflix, has already fulfilled the one most important condition for Musk’s approval: public flattery. Hastings said last month at the NYT Dealbook conference that what Musk has “done in numerous areas is fantastic,” calling him “the bravest, most imaginative person on the globe.”

“His style is different. I’m trying to be, like, a steady, respectable leader up here and he’s just out there.”

Is Reed Hastings “foolish enough” for the job?

Hastings is probably not all that thrilled about the position. Hastings has little experience with content moderation, which is one of Twitter’s ongoing difficulties because Netflix doesn’t interfere with user-generated content. Hastings is also exploring new territory with Twitter’s key revenue generator, advertising. However, Hasting is well-versed in one of Musk’s primary goals: expanding Twitter’s own subscription service.

A member of Musk’s inner circle

If we talk about the best fit for Elon Musk, who can be better than a member of Musk’s inner circle? Musk’s some of the closest have made it clear they want to replace him as Twitter’s new CEO:

  • Jason Calacanis
  • David Sacks
  • Steve Davis

Who will be the new CEO of Twitter: Elon Musk has friends with good CVs

Jason Calacanis

Musk’s close buddy and angel investor Jason Calacanis even texted the billionaire about how being CEO of Twitter is his “dream job.” Calacanis said to Musk, “Board member, advisor, anything… you have my sword,” in texts that were made public during Twitter’s legal battle with the billionaire.

Even as Musk has taken over the company, Calacanis has stood behind him. On December 18th, he surveyed to determine who Twitter users would like to see as CEO. The 8,2 percent of voters who thought Calacanis should be CEO was far below the total vote. The most popular option was “Other,” which garnered 39.1 percent of the total vote.

David Sacks

Another member of Musk’s inner circle, Craft Ventures partner and former PayPal CEO David Sacks, was suggested in the poll. Only around a third of people favored Sacks, while nearly a quarter (25.6%) thought Calacanis and Sacks should share the CEO role.

Steve Davis

It has been reported that Steve Davis, president of the Boring Company venture, has brought his newborn infant to Twitter’s offices to sleep as he helps the billionaire. Musk started The Boring Company to build underground transportation systems. Davis also has worked at SpaceX, where he gained a thorough understanding of the “hardcore” work style favored by the billionaire founder.

Elon Musk

Is the best fit for Elon Musk himself? First of all, we already know he is “foolish enough” to take the job, and the decision did not positively impact him. After he bought Twitter and became Twitter CEO, he became the second richest man in the world. It sounds like a success story, but it means that nearly $5 billion off of the fortune of CEO Elon Musk has gone, and Bernard Arnault, worth an estimated $186.2 billion, became the richest person in the world.

Despite this, Musk is probably not leaving anytime soon. Forcing him off Twitter will require more than a quick Twitter poll, and Musk’s promise to step down comes with a huge disclaimer: finding someone “foolish enough” to get the position.
