Where to Find Smithing Stones in Elden Ring

Date:

Elden Ring Review 2

As you make your way through Elden Ring you’ll want to upgrade your weapons so you have the edge in combat. And for that, you’ll need smithing stones.

Smithing stones can be found in a variety of places as you explore the world of Elden Ring, and they come in various qualities. You’ll start by needing multiple pieces of Smithing Stone [1] to upgrade your weapons, for example, before needing multiple pieces of Smithing Stone [2], and so on. You’ll occasionally come across Somber Smithing Stones as well, which can be used to upgrade special weapons. But just where do you find smithing stones in Elden Ring?

As previously mentioned, you’ll find the odd smithing stone here and there as you travel from one place to another in Elden Ring, but there are some places you can go to find troves of them. Tunnels where they’re mined are your best bet. You’ll find lots of Smithing Stone [1] in the Limgrave Tunnels at the northern tip of Agheel Lake, for example. And in the Raya Lucaria Tunnels, east of the swamp in the Liurnia of the Lakes region, you’ll find plenty of Smithing Stone [2] and Smithing Stone [3].

Aside from tunnels, there are other places where you’ll find decent stores of Smithing Stones, too. The pagodas spread across the swampy area in the Liurnia of the Lakes region are home to quite a few. And keep an eye out for statues that have bright white lights shining out of them. You’ll find one south of the Warmaster’s Shack near Stormveil Castle, surrounded by trolls. Get one of the trolls to hit the statue and it will break, allowing you to collect the Smithing Stones inside. And don’t worry, you’ll eventually find vendors that allow you to buy as many low-level Smithing Stones as you’d like.
