Battlefield 2042 is launching on Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, announced Dice on Wednesday.

The sixth installment of the Battlefield franchise, Battlefield 2042, got a reveal trailer teasing its story, gameplay, and weather system. The multiplayer first-person-shooter is set in a dark futuristic world where climate change has collapsed economies, and war rages across the globe. The game is set to release on Oct. 22, 2021.

Not only is Battlefield 2042 coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, it’s also coming to PS4 and Xbox One, so players who haven’t purchased a next-gen console can get in on the action too.

There are some limitations though. On Xbox One and PS4, the maximum size of multiplayer matches will be 64 people, while on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, that size will be increased to 128. The limitation of match sizes is likely due to the difficulty of older consoles handling the game.

Note that the pricing of Battlefield 2042 will be higher on next-gen consoles, costing $10 more at $70 compared to $60 on PC and older consoles. There are also more expensive editions of the game up for pre-order, which come with additional content. To pre-order the game, head to its website.
