Thanks to Sunday’s Pokemon Presents, fans were treated to a glimpse at the upcoming Gen 9 Pokemon games – Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. It seems that the company is following in the success of Pokemon Legends: Arcues by committing to a more open world-style game.
It’s safe to say that this approach has been a much needed breath of fresh air for the Pokemom franchise, with many excited to see how Nintendo plans to build on the concept. We’ve already seen which new starters await us, with players given the choice between Grass-type Sprigatito, Fire-type. Fuecoco, and Water-type Quaxly.

Of course, the big question is, when will the games release?
At the time of writing, the release date has been slated for late 2022.
Sadly, it’s too early to receive any specific date, but late 2022 is still sooner than what many might expect, considering that Pokemon Legends: Arceus was only released just over a month ago.
As we move closer towards the end of the year, it’s likely we’ll be receiving more information and updates, not just on the release date but the game as a whole. Fans will no doubt have their wishlists at the ready with all the features they hope to see in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
