MedCity News has hosted a startup pitch event at our conferences for several years. These contests present an opportunity for healthcare and life science startups to present their technology to an audience of investors with the hope of building relationships that could lead to critical funding milestones in their development.
The INVEST Pitch Perfect contest is part of our INVEST conference April 19-23, which will be hosted online due to Covid-19, includes five tracks for startups: biopharma, medical devices, diagnostics, health IT and health services. If these categories reflect your business, please apply. The deadline is January 31.
To be eligible to participate, you need to fulfill one of the following criteria:
- Raised at least $1 million;
- Raised a Series A round;
- Have at least one qualified institutional investor or strategic investor that you can identify

Here are just a few examples of companies that have taken part in our pitch competition that went on to receive funding:
NeuroFlow (winner, INVEST Pitch Perfect, Health IT track, 2019)
- Closed a $7.5M Series A round in 2019
- Raised $20 million in a series B round this month
Cricket Health (winner, INVEST Pitch Perfect, medical device track, 2017)
- Closed $24M Series A round in 2018 led by Oak HC/FT.
PhysIQ (winner, INVEST Pitch Perfect, health It track, 2016)
- Has raised $26.4M, including an $8M Series B round in July 2017.
