Prominent Warzone streamers may not run into hackers more frequently than other players, but when they complain about those hackers, developer Raven Software is more likely to listen because of their huge followings. When you’ve got four of the biggest names in Call of Duty streaming in the same lobby, the ban hammer drops just a little bit more quickly.

Streamers Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, Nicholas “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff, Tim “TimTheTatman” Betar, and Dennis “Cloakzy” Lepore were all playing together when they began repeatedly encountering a pair of hackers that would follow them game to game. Frustrated, CouRage decided to tweet Activision and Raven about the situation.

“Hey Activision and Raven Software,” he wrote. “I think it would be extremely beneficial to have someone watch our live-streams and ban blatant cheaters on the spot. Currently, there are two cheaters joining our lobbies and ruining our Warzone experience with about 150,000 live viewers watching.”

A few hours later all four streamers were spectating the cheaters as they worked toward another ill-gotten win when, all of the sudden, the player disappeared from the match. Raven appeared to have banned them. The streamers immediately celebrated Raven’s quick response.

Of course, it’s not feasible for companies like Activision and Raven to have someone on staff always watching streams to ban cheaters, and there’s some preferential treatment involved in this incident, but the net effect is one fewer cheater in Warzone. Players everywhere can celebrate that.
