The wife of former West Coast and Carlton Football Club great Chris Judd is also well known for documenting the renovation of her family’s luxurious Brighton home and their ski chalet on Mt Buller.
The Brighton reno, which was completed on top of the $7.3m the Judds dropped on the Spanish Colonial style house in 2019, might give a hint of what’s to come with her interior design career as it showcases light and bright living spaces, natural stone highlights and family-friendly storage.
But a new partnership with developer Lowe Living will for the first time bring Judd’s style sense to new apartments.
She will work on the final homes in the high-end developer’s luxury Sera project by architects Warren & Mahoney in Brighton, as well as for an upcoming Hampton apartment building named Ocean Street where homes will be listed for sale in early 2023.
“Both the Sera and Ocean Street developments reflect my personal interior design aesthetic with a focus on luxury and unique detailing to really elevate them in terms of sophistication and individuality,” Judd said.
Lowe Living owners and managing directors Tim and Emma Lowe said their partnership was “the next evolution” of a commitment to “unparalleled quality and attention to detail”.
“Our brief to Bec was simple – design these collections as you would design your own home, with a specific focus on bespoke detailing and clever design inclusions that enhance liveability,” Mr Lowe said.
“We want our customers to feel just as comfortable in these residences in 10 years from now as they will when they move in, and we think Bec has absolutely hit that brief; we can’t wait to bring them both to market in the coming months.”
The Sera Brighton apartments with interior design by Judd start from $1.295m and will be available later this year.
The Ocean Street project in Hampton will have homes from $1.29m.
Lowe Living’s past projects include a Black Rock apartment building with design inspired by the wreck of HMVS Cerberus and a Hampton development that will become one of Victoria’s first complexes to achieve an 7.5-star energy efficiency in its homes.
