Zeal Esports and Team Secret are now in the lower tier, waiting for their next opponents.

The first week of the Philippines VCT 2022 Challengers Stage 1 playoffs (try saying that 10 times fast) has begun, and four out of the six teams have played their first match  with two of the teams advancing to the next round. The other pair will be waiting in the lower brackets to proceed.

The six teams that has advanced to the playoffs from the group stages are:

The first four met up in the first Upper Bracket matches to see who will go to round 2.

Zeal Esports met up with Action PH for their match. The two teams looked to be similarly matched in the first round, with the win going to Zeal Esports. However, come map 2, Zeal Esports seemed to lose their, well, zeal as they lost to APH 5-13 at Haven. APH grabbed the last point in the last map, Ascent, with a score 13-0, devastating Zeal Esports in the process. Action PH won 2-1.

Team Secret met up with South Built Esports for their match. The former consists of the old Bren Esports line up and is the same team that flew to Berlin for last year’s Champions tournament. In the first map, Bind, Team Secret took control of the map in both halves, and easily won 13-7 for the first point. In Haven, SBE rose up and dominated the match, winning the match 13-10 with a clutch at the last round, giving them the score. For the last map, Split, the two teams played until overtime, where in the end, SBE took the two win needed for the overall victory with a final score of 2-1.

Action PH will next meet up with Oasis Gaming while South Built Esports will be battling against NAOS Esports. The losers of these two matches will be bumped down to the lower brackets to continue their journey.
