Last week Ubisoft announced The Division Resurgence, a new mobile game based on the Tom Clancy looter-shooter series.
Today, the publisher shows off some gameplay from an alpha build of The Division Resurgence, and it looks fascinating. It’s not a turn-based RPG gacha game with a The Division skin (in other words, not just an easy cash-in mobile game with a well-known IP slapped on top), but rather a faithful version of The Division designed for mobile.
You get to explore the open world of a wintery New York City (but set in between the events of The Division 1 and 2). The interface and gear slots are reminiscent of the console and PC games albeit a bit simplified. And combat is essentially the usual cover shooter gameplay, with abilities via gadgets.
The Division Resurgence will have upcoming tests in which players can participate. The game will be free-to-play and will be available on iOS and Android devices.
