TSM streamer Mayumi shares ‘disturbing’ texts from doorman who obtained her private info via apartment registry

Published

on

TSM content creator and popular Twitch streamer Mayumi said she received a series of “disturbing” texts from a doorman at her apartment complex after he obtained her number through the building’s registry and continued to contact her after she asked him to delete her number.

In a post to Twitter earlier today, the streamer shared screenshots of text exchanges between her and the doorman, who initially approached her under the guise of simply welcoming her to the building. He later disclosed that he had obtained her contact information because she “seemed nice and charismatic” and wanted to get to know her. She then asked him to delete his number, but he would later continue to text her.

After receiving the initial texts, Mayumi tweeted a screenshot of the texts that included the doorman’s first name and photo, informing her followers of the situation. She continued to received messages from the doorman, who revealed he followed her streams and had seen her post on Twitter. She later erased the post after he asked her to but said the situation led her to feel unsafe.

“After all, anyone who knew where he worked would know where I live, and he had my private number that could have been easily leaked (though the number itself is a minor issue because I can change it, but that guy knows where I live),” Mayumi wrote. “Especially now, that a nearby apartment was robbed, I don’t feel safe living somewhere I can be so easily found.”

Mayumi said she also contacted the landlord and informed her of the situation. She initially asked to cancel her contract out of fear the doorman would retaliate by leaking her private information. The landlord later assured her the doorman had been fired and would “[never] set foot in the building again.”

The situation is the latest in a long line of similar incidents involving female Twitch streamers. In January, prolific Twitch streamer and 100 Thieves co-owner Valkyrae said she was forced to switch her Twitter profile to private after a stalker made “hundreds of accounts for months” to harass her.

In the same month, another popular Twitch streamer JadeyAnh received a phone call from a stalker during a broadcast. He had spoofed her father’s phone number and threatened to kill him if she didn’t expose her body on stream.

“While streaming my ‘Dad’ called me,” JadeyAnh wrote. “When I picked up, a guy demanded that I must show my boobs on stream. He said if I refuse, he will slit my dad’s throat who, according to him, was lying tied up on the floor. He kept calling me horrible things and even dropped my address in order to terrify me even more.”

One of JadeyAnh’s moderators informed the streamer they had contacted her uncle, who confirmed her father to be safe. She was then able to hang up the phone and contact the police before later reaffirming her followers of her and her father’s safety.

Mayumi began her professional League of Legends career with INTZ in August 2019 as a substitute support at age 17 and remained with the Brazilian team until May 2020. She joined TSM in January as a streamer and content creator to help better represent the Brazilian League community.

TSM overpower Cloud9, retain first place at the end of the LCS Summer Split week 3

Published

on

Cloud9’s quick crumble from the top of the LCS grew one step further tonight, cementing TSM as the new leaders of North American League of Legends.

In a complete snowball from beginning to end, TSM picked up yet another victory against their long-standing rivals Cloud9, securing the team’s first place standing at 19 wins and eight losses.

Cloud9 pulled out all the stops in their last attempt of the weekend to secure a win and maintain their status as the top team in the LCS. With a mix of powerful meta champions, Cloud9 deviated from their normal all-around playstyle to center around a composition ready to engage TSM at any moment and peel for Perkz and K1ng. But TSM had the answer in the form of a giant bear in the jungle.

Spica made Fudge’s life miserable with constant roams on his Volibear into the top lane, carrying over into complete topside river control that placed Perkz behind in the process. Blaber, the MVP of the Spring Split, was up in objectives and gold, but being unable to engage securely without the fear of the bear running in put him behind very quickly.

Eyes were on the PowerOfEvil vs. Perkz match in the mid lane, placing two of League’s esports veterans against one another once more in a matchup where there was sure to be a lot of action. PoE’s Viktor ended up being a crucial component of TSM’s late-game teamfight-oriented composition, providing the burst damage and the crowd control necessary to make Perkz look little more than an enemy minion—though Perkz’s burst damage as Syndra was nothing to scoff at before the game began to roll in TSM’s favor.

One quick Baron from TSM after some Lee Sin freestyle from Huni wasn’t enough for TSM’s top laner. When the second Baron spawned, Huni took advantage of every gap in Cloud9’s defenses to jump right in and throw them into the TSM squad. Spica walked away as the player of the game through his complete jungle control, complemented by allowing Huni to get as far ahead as he did.

With this victory, TSM secured their spot on the throne as the LCS’s top team, with 100 Thieves trailing not that far behind. Cloud9, on the other hand, now join Team Liquid in third place following their third loss this weekend and gained another chip in their morale.

Week four of the LCS will begin on June 25 with a match between Evil Geniuses and Liquid to better organize the middle of the LCS standings.

T1 go the distance against Virtus Pro, win ESL One Summer 2021

Published

on

T1 carried over their impressive play from the WePlay Esports AniMajor directly into ESL One Summer 2021, dropping just a single series to Virtus Pro before coming back and winning the Dota 2 event.

VP knocked T1 out of the upper bracket in the finals with a 2-1 victory but failed to close out in the grand finals, losing 3-2 against the top team in Southeast Asia.

Heading into their rematch with VP, T1 had only lost two games, sweeping Vikin.gg, Quincy Crew, and Alliance to make it to the grand finals. A dominant game one from 23savage’s Phantom Assassin helped T1 grab the match victory, but VP once again took control of the series after the opener.

Following that game one loss, VP took games two and three in rather dominant fashion, never trailing outside of the opening minutes in either contest. Those wins were fueled by Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko, who went a combined 21-0-21 for 46,200 hero damage on Juggernaut and Faceless Void.

Despite falling behind again, T1 maintained their aggressive playstyle, pushing their advantages and showing why many think they had the best teamfight in the entire event.

In two closeout games, T1 pulled away late and staved off VP and took the series, taking home $175,000.

Even with this loss, VP had a great showing, bouncing back from a poor performance at the AniMajor to contend with many of the top teams in the world. Both T1 and VP will take this experience into their bootcamps for The International 10, where both teams will compete on Dota’s biggest stage starting Aug. 5.

Hobbit claims BLAST Premier Spring Final MVP award

Published

on

Abay “Hobbit” Khasenov edged out a tight MVP race at BLAST Premier Spring Final, getting the individual accolade after Gambit‘s 2-0 victory over Natus Vincere in the grand final. His team has now won three consecutive titles and cemented their spot at the top of the world ranking.

The Kazakh player was incredibly consistent at the event, his worst map being a 1.11-rated Dust2 in the grand final, with that stability seeing him leave behind AWPers Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov in the fight for the MVP award.

Hobbit was a key factor in Gambit’s victory

With a 1.21 rating, 84.6 ADR, and a +38 K-D, Hobbit stood out in handful of leaderboards for the event, all while having the most impact in Gambit‘s round wins and boasting a brilliant level of consistency.

WIth the MVP from BLAST Premier Spring Final, Hobbit‘s MVP tally rises to three, having previously netted the highest individual accollade at EPIC League CIS in 2021 and DreamHack Open Zowie Winter in 2016.
