Tripwire Interactive has parted ways with John Gibson, now-former CEO, following an anti-choice tweet praising the Supreme Court’s inaction over the Texas abortion bill.

The decision came barely a day after Gibson’s public tweet in support of the United States Supreme Court’s inaction to adhere to emergency intervention requests to stop a six-week abortion ban law in the southern state of Texas. The law has been controversial from the start, allegedly overturning Roe vs. Wade—the 1973 precedent case protecting the right to reproductive choice.

In a statement published late on Monday, Sept. 6, the company officially distanced itself from its former CEO and his stance on the issue.

“His comments disregarded the values of our whole team, our partners and much of our broader community,” the statement read, “Our leadership team at Tripwire are deeply sorry and are unified in our commitment to take swift action and to foster a more positive environment.”

Tripwire went on to announce the appointment of its new “interim CEO”—Alan Wilson.

Players may recognize Wilson from his work on the Red Orchestra franchise prior to Tripwire’s founding in 2005. He joined the team as the co-founder and vice president at its inception where he primarily handled the PR and financial side of the company, according to his LinkedIn. Wilson has been with Tripwire for upwards of 16 years.

“His understanding of both the company’s culture and the creative vision of our games will carry the team through this transition, with full support from the other Tripwire leaders.” The statement read.

Tripwire’s full statement can be found on its website. There is no word on whether Shipwright Studios, the co-development team that announced it would be canceling all contracts with Tripwire in reaction to Gibson’s comments, would continue working with the company.
