“The couple that bought it currently living in Clarendon St,” he said.

“They’ve got a renovated character home on a small block and they were wanting to upsize to something bigger for their young children, so it was perfect for that.”

Meanwhile a renovated character home on a small block in central South Geelong remains on the market after post-auction negotiations stalled with the highest bidder.

The Edwardian residence at 2b Lonsdale St passed in for $750,000 after interest from two parties.

But Hayeswinckle agent Michelle Winckle was confident she was close to concluding a sale as there was other parties interested in the property, who either couldn’t make Saturday’s auction, or couldn’t bid under auction conditions.

The house sits almost in the shadow of GMHBA Stadium and is walking distance to the CBD, Barwon River and South Geelong train station.
