ESL, Rio de Janeiro'daki iki 2022 CS:GO Major Şampiyonası'ndan birine ev sahipliği yapmayı hedefliyor

Tarih:

Orijinal Rio turnuvasının 2020'de iptal edilmesinin ardından ESL bir şans daha deniyor.

Based on sources that talked to Dexerto, ESL is working with Valve to host the second CS:GO Major for 2022 in Rio de Janeiro. The event, set to be called ESL Rio Major, is to be held  October 31- November 13, 2022. This will be ESL’s return in organizing a CS:GO Major if the news is confirmed after StarLadder and PGL hosting the previous Majors.

The original ESL One: Rio Major was supposed to happen in May 2020, before it got postponed and eventually cancelled due to the ongoing global health crisis.

No venue has been confirmed or even rumoured for this Major. For the ESL One, the tournament’s playoffs were to be held in front of a live audience at the Jeunesse Arena, an indoor multi-purpose arena that hosted the 2017 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational.

This will be the second of the two CS:GO Majors slated to happen this year. The first Major, scheduled for May 9-22, has no attached organizer as of today.

The new name for the ESL Rio Major is on the back of the news that ESL has renewed their collaboration with Intel where as part of the deal, all non-league ESL Pro Tour circuit CS:GO tournaments will be held under the IEM brand. The new deal is beginning from this year, up to IEM Katowice 2025.
