The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has said that all the airlines will now need to appoint senior certifying staff and place them at “all base and transit stations”. Multiple incidents of aircraft faults have been reported in the last few months in India. The watchdog conducted several spot checks and concluded that Indian havayolları have been operating flights on MEL or Minimum Equipment List.

Multiple flights from SpiceJet and IndiGo have faced glitches and had to divert paths because of that.
