Which are the best CS:GO teams today? Defining a Top 5 is a difficult task, with deep criteria and analysis needed to make an accurate selection.
While it is difficult to forget teams like the former Astralis, this top 5 only concerns the best Counter-Strike teams in activity. Adding to the ranking of HLTV organizations released at the end of 2021, the titles conquered and the performances presented in recent months are at least equally important.
Top Tier CS:GO Teams
Natus Vincere
Indeed, Natus Vincere isn’t a headhunter team. Last year, for example, there were “only” two: BLAST Premier Spring Regular Season and IEM World Championship. However, the consistency the organization has enforced through most of 2020 was daunting. One of the secrets behind Na’Vi’s great timing is rapport. The lineup had not changed since January 2020, when Ilya “Perfecto” took over from Ladislav “GuardiaN.” The evolution since then is absurd.
The eastern European association is the most likely to stop another significant period of dominance by Astralis. And this movement has already started in 2021: Oleksandr “s1mple” and his teammates face the BLAST Premier Global Final right on top of their rivals.

Gambit Esports
The third CIS team on the list is the famous organization Gambit Esports, winner of PGL Krakow Major 2017 and IEM Katowice 2021. It also surprised, as well as Virtus.Pro, with its result in the event in question. They were also expected to be a lot of work, with a good campaign, but a title was unlikely.
Gambit is another very young team standing out on the world stage. They currently occupy the 15th position in the ranking of groups, with their players averaging 21 years of age. Speaking of young people, interestingly, until October 2020, this line-up was part of Gambit Youngsters, a kind of “base category” of Gambit. Then, in October, the organization decided to promote the team to the top level.
Even like Youngsters, Gambit already had good results, and the “promotion” to the first team only crowned performances of great expression. It’s no wonder they rank among the top 20 teams in the world since November, right after their promotion to the first team. The tendency is to improve the game level even more.
Team Vitality
Of course, it is impossible to not mention Team Vitality! After all, it is home to a contender for best CS:GO player today: in Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut. The community voted the AWPer as the leading player on the planet for the second time in a row.
But the organization does not only live from ZywOo. The French, as a whole, have presented themselves very consistently on the international circuit, to the point of taking turns as a sixth player between the map intervals.
In 2020, they accumulated two very expressive achievements: IEM Beijing EU and BLAST Premier Fall. This last triumph was to close the year with a golden key: 2-1 over the Danish Astralis.
G2 Esports
Today, we continued the list of the best CS:GO teams with G2 Esports. The organization could not call any cup it was owned in 2020, but it surprised the transfer market by removing Nikola “NiKo” from the FaZe Clan.
The European ace is one of the leading athletes of today. No wonder it ended the season as the fourth-best on the planet. NiKo’s arrival, however, did not translate into glories. And the G2 still lives dry of titles.
The first half of last year was solid, it’s one of the reasons they are so far ahead in the rankings. The organization ended up as the runner-up in three relevant competitions, needing to trim the edges to finally get its hands on some trophy again.
OG Esports
OG Esports, which has started with Dota 2, decided to invest in CS:GO in 2019. It has announced internationally famous players who donned the team jersey. With this new high-level environment, stemming from competitions and awards, everyone wants in. Several teams are thinking about returning to the scene or, like OG, joining the sport for the first time.
It was no surprise when the team, even new to the field, managed to be a part of the Top 5 CS:GO teams in 2021; in 2022, we expect to see an even more vital section in this area of competition.
