The Space Groove event soared into League of Legends on April Fool’s Day 2021 and came with a classic choice: picking between two sides. This time, players are asked to choose just how they want to party in the intergalactic League of Legends universe. Will you side with The Groove or with Harsh Vibes?
Picking between the two sides will determine which free missions list is unlocked for the player. This post will go over both choices and all of the available free content in the Space Groove 2021 event.

The Groove vs. Harsh Vibes
Unlike past events that pitted two or more sides against each other (like VS or Night & Dawn), the choice players are given does not carry any real consequences. It doesn’t really matter which side wins and players who do pick the winning side won’t unlock any additional rewards. Therefore, the choice is entirely dependent on player preference.
But preference alone can be a pretty contentious thing. Some of the greatest internet battles of our time have been fought over preference and personal opinion. Is a hot dog a sandwich? Waffles or pancakes? Is “GIF” pronounced with a hard or soft “G”? These questions have torn lovers apart and thrown friendships asunder.

The choice between The Groove and Harsh Vibes may be as simple as purple versus orange. But it can be as complex and emotionally-charged as dogs (Groove) versus Cats (Vibes).
Or players can just pick which emote and icon they like more. Just remember that once you pick a side, you can’t switch allegiances and the faction-exclusive emote and summoner icon will be locked into your available rewards.
Space Groove Free Missions list: The Groove
Siding with The Groove unlocks 15 free-to-play missions that players can complete throughout the event. The pupper faction’s mission list comes with the exclusive Space Groove Toofers icon and the “Peace Out” emote.

Space Groove Free Missions list: Harsh Vibes
Just like The Groove, siding with Harsh Vibes unlocks 15 unique missions. Players choosing the kitty faction will have the opportunity to unlock the exclusive Space Groove Frank icon and the “Rock On” emote.

Space Groove Orb Mission
Along with the free missions list outlined above, all players have access to a free Orb mission for the length of the event. This mission is not faction-locked and is not linked to any other missions. To complete it, players simply have to play at least 30 games throughout the event.
Completing the Space Groove Orb mission will reward the player with 75 event tokens and a Space Groove 2021 Orb. The orb, like any other loot capsule in the game, contains a skin shard with a small chance to drop a Gemstone or a Mythic rarity skin.
The Space Groove Orb also contains a 3.5% chance of dropping a Luxe Bag, which contains at least 3 additional skin shards.

The quickest way to complete the 30 games required in the orb mission may be in One for All, a chaotic yet wildly fun game mode that has returned to League of Legends for a limited time.
