Tech Mahindra, Lokmat, CavinKare, MG Motor India offer helping hand

India Inc. is putting its best foot forward to help distressed employees amidst the raging pandemic. Tech Mahindra has launched a covid care centre at its Hinjewadi facility, in Pune,for its employees. Set up in collaboration with Ruby Hall Clinic, it is equipped with 25 beds and other medical facilities for the benefit of employees and their families. Those admitted will have access to food, medicines, oxygen, Wi-Fi and so on.

Tech Mahindra has already launched a vaccination drive for staff across Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, Noida and Hyderabad. Additionally, there is a 24×7 helpline number through which employees can reach out for help during any crisis.

Automaker, MG Motor India, has done its bit for the general population, in a unique way. It has donated 200 biodegradable beds for the benefit of COVID-affected people, in collaboration with the online healthcare platform, Credihealth.

These beds will be presented to various hospitals and isolation centres on a first-come-first-serve basis, via the Credihealth platform, which helps people look for doctors, medical facilities, beds, medicines and so on.

The eco-friendly hard cardboard beds have waterproof coating and are completely biodegradable.

These beds are being sourced from Aryan Paper Mills in Gujarat. Last month, MG Motor India tied up with Gujarat-based Devnandan Gases to accelerate the production of oxygen and increase it by 15 per cent per hour at one of its plants in Vadodara. Its aim is to increase it by 50 per cent soon.

CavinKare, the FMCG major, has announced free vaccination cover for all its 1,700 employees and their immediate dependents, in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

If an employee loses the battle to COVID, the surviving family will be given financial assistance in the form of an annual salary for a specific time period, in addition to statutory insurance benefits. Like many other companies, CavinKare will also extend support to help the children of the deceased finish their education till the college level.
The Company has been organising well-being sessions and virtual events to ensure the safety and well-being of the employees.

Meanwhile, in Maharashtra and Goa, the Lokmat Group has come forward and announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the employees who lose their lives to COVID. The Group that owns the popular paper, has launched the #Lokmat Cares initiative to offer COVID assistance, relief and Support) initiative.

A team of senior employees has been constituted to counsel the families of the deceased, and to give them the required guidance and support for two years. This financial support will be extended to the dependents / survivors of the employees who lost their lives in the first wave of the pandemic too.

Vaccination of the staff is also part of the Lokmat Cares initiative, under which arrangement for hospital beds, concentrators and other medical equipment is also being done for the needy employees.
