It appears that Winter in Mexico isn’t quite the same as it is here in the chilly UK, so Forza Horizon 5’s Weekly Challenges for Series 3 - Winter is subtitled “Dry Season”. What doesn’t change though is the sheer amount of mad stuff that the Playground Games’ guys and gals want us to achieve over the course of the next seven days or so. Sony have posted a new video in which we get to meet the cast of Horizon Forbidden West, those returning and the new additions. Ashly Burch as Aloy, Lance Reddick as Sylens, John MacMillan as Varl, and John Hopkins as Erend are featured along with Noshir Dalal as Kotallo and Carrie-Anne Moss as the mysterious Tilda. Sadly Angela Bassett, who plays Regalla, is not in the video. As usual Lance Reddick is the MVP but Carrie-Anne Moss lets slip that she likes playing “manipulative people” so Tilda may not be as innocent as her sleek robes suggest. “There’s a lot of mystery to her,” she adds. Horizon Forbidden West is set to launch on the 18th February on both PS4 and PS5 and ahead of that Sony have also released a new story trailer. Horizon Forbidden West has just been revealed as one of the top games in our 2022 Most Wanted list, coming in at number 3. Read our thoughts on the upcoming PlayStation exclusive here. This new trailer comes just a few days after we got our first glimpse of Horizon in VR. Sony confirmed the name of PlayStation VR2 while also announcing their first exclusive game: Horizon Call of the Mountain. Who’s looking forward to popping a fancy hat on to truly enter Aloy’s world? Horizon Forbidden West will release on February 18th 2022, having missed its intended 2021 release target. As a cross-gen release for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Sony caused a bit of a stink when revealing their upgrade plans (or lack thereof), quickly U-turning to stick to the spirit of previous statements they had made to now offer free upgrades from PS4 to PS5. Great news for those stuck on the older generation during the current console shortages, as everyone that wants can pick up the game without worrying about future upgrade fees on this occasion. Horizon Forbidden West is very nearly here, continuing the adventures of Aloy as she journey's through the post-post apocalypse. The first game, Horizon Zero Dawn, tells a story wrapped in mystery, as we discover Aloy's history, and that of the game's world, along with the character. What happened to humanity as we know it? Why are there robot dinosaurs everywhere? Who exactly is Aloy, anyway? All these questions are answered, and it's worth knowing all the details ahead of the sequel's arrival on 18th February 2022.

To that end, we've drawn up a full story recap of the first game so you can head into Horizon Forbidden West with your memory well and truly jogged. It has been nearly five years since Guerrilla's original action RPG debuted on PlayStation 4, so hopefully this will serve as a useful reminder, going over the main plot points from the first game and its DLC, Frozen Wilds. Sony have launched their annual PlayStation Wrap Up site which allows you to see just how much time you spent on your PS4 and PS5 during 2021. The site summarise your total playtime (955 hours for me!) and them breaks things down further. You can see your totally time split between PS4 and PS5, how long you played online, the number of days you turned on your console, and how many hours spent using PlayStation VR. You also get to see how many different games you played and the time split between them.My number one game is Destiny 2 with 644 hours but there’s a surprise in second place as I seem to have played 53 hours of Days Gone. Trophies get a spotlight with your total shown and then a breakdown of the Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies you have attained. The site also lists community stats for various games; players have travelled 45 million kilometres in Death Stranding: Directors Cut, played over 12 million hours within Returnal,  26.1% found all the CraiggerBears in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and over 107 million vehicles have been wrecked in Destruction AllStars. Finally, a PlayStation Plus section lets you know how game were claimable in 2021 (it’s 37) and how many of those you have added to your library. If you scroll to the bottom of the site you will also be able to claim a personalised avatar pack for to use on your PlayStation. However, before you dive in there are a few caveats. You must have played at least ten hours last year (I don’t think that will be a problem for most of our readers) but you must have also consented to the collection of “Full Data” in the PlayStation 5 system settings.
