Street Fighter 6’s Logo Is Basically An Adobe Stock Graphic

Oh no.

If we’re honest, there are more people talking about Street Fighter 6’s logo than the actual game. To be fair, Capcom’s late night reveal didn’t give us a fat lot to chat about: Ryu’s still got his beard, has a pretty wide torso, and newcomer Luke is returning to the fray. The logo, however, has become a huge talking point.

Street Fighter is, of course, historically known for its flashy fonts. This comparison, edited together by Reddit, shows the dramatic change:

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak to Detail Recovery Roadmap, as Campaign Heats Up

Democratic Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak will address the state this week and lay out his vision for economic recovery post-pandemic. Sisolak’s Communications Director Meghin Delaney says the governor will detail how Nevada will spend the final $2.7 billion in federal COVID-19 aid it received last year under the American Rescue Plan. Sisolak is also expected […]

Horizon Forbidden West’s PS5, PS4 Visual Issues a High Priority, Patch Incoming ASAP

Guerrilla working to resolve HDR, shimmering, and pop-in problems.

Horizon Forbidden West looks incredible on both the PlayStation 5 and (perhaps, surprisingly) PS4, but it’s not flawless: its presentation does have a few issues, including HDR hiccups, shimmering, and pop-in. The good news is that developer Guerrilla Games is on the case, and after last week’s hot fix, it’s already planning to release another title update as soon as possible.

“Thank you for sharing your various visual issues with us via our Support Form,” a spokesperson wrote on the game’s official Reddit page. “The team are working vigilantly to resolve these issues. Please continue to use the Support Form and share videos (recordings of your TV and monitor are useful) and provide us with as much information as possible.”

Golden Entertainment Gushes Cash Flow

Last week, Golden Entertainment (NASDAQ:GDEN) reported consensus-beating fourth-quarter revenue. But some analysts believe the real story for the Strat operator is a burgeoning free cash flow (FCF) story that could prompt elevated shareholder rewards. On its current free cash flow trajectory, it’s possible Golden will generate approximately $200 million in cash this year — more […]

In the UK, 70% of Boxed Horizon Forbidden West Buyers Paid More Than They Needed To

British problems.

And this, dear readers, is why companies are so cunningly ambiguous! Early physical sales data for Horizon Forbidden West has arrived in the UK, and with it comes confirmation that “almost a third of sales” were on the PlayStation 4. That means roughly 70 per cent of people paid £10 extra to own the PS5 version of the game – despite it offering a free upgrade on Sony’s previous platform, for the lower price of £59.99.

There are no real advantages to buying the £69.99 physical PS5 edition, aside from some minor changes to the labelling on the boxart. Some may argue that the free PS4 to PS5 upgrade process that Sony provides isn’t particularly reliable, annoyingly installing PS4 data when it’s not needed – but this is a firmware flaw that the company really should have solved by now, and £10 still seems like a high price to pay for some potential inconveniences.

Talking Point: What PS5, PS4 PS Plus Games for March 2022 Do You Want?

When will PS Plus be announced?

What are the March 2022 PS Plus games for PS5 and PS4 and when will the March 2022 PS Plus games be announced? It seems like Sony has snuffed out its mole as, at the time of writing, there's been no PS Plus leak. Last month's selection of Planet Coaster: Console Edition, EA Sports UFC 4, and Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure did not go down well among subscribers, with almost 50 per cent of you describing it as crap. So let's hope the March 2022 PS Plus games are better.

Horizon Forbidden West Is Getting Review Bombed on PS5, PS4 for No Reason

0/10, apparently.

It wouldn’t be a major video game release without gamers exhibiting embarrassing behaviour. Horizon Forbidden West has been quietly racking up disproportionately negative reviews on Metacritic overnight, and while it’s still holding a steady overall user score, the string of 0/10s are obviously beginning to look disingenuous. Many of you may recall The Last of Us: Part 2, amid an eye-rolling social media scandal, falling to a similar fate.

Of course, there’s no targeted campaign against Aloy’s sophomore outing this time – it’s just people being silly. “Probably the biggest disappointment in a while,” one user wrote of the 80 or so hour game, less than 24 hours after its release. “I had very high expectations. The story is bland and unimaginative, the gameplay is very boring. Even the lauded graphics are underwhelming. Really dropped the ball here.”

Tom Holland’s Uncharted Movie Looking Like a Box Office Hit

North American launch could pull up to $45 million this weekend.

Uncharted got off to a strong start in Europe last week, and it’s looking like its opening weekend in the United States and Canada will be similarly robust. Deadline reports that its opening is exceeding expectations, and is potentially trending towards $45 million through Monday, which includes President’s Day. In fact, optimistic analysts believe that number could yet cross $50 million, making it comfortably the biggest film of the long weekend.

It’s worth noting that the movie cost $120 million to produce, and therefore needs to be a hit in order to make back its investment. But the early indications are positive, and there may yet be hope for the sequel teased in the film’s post credits scene. It’s a particularly positive result for Tom Holland, whose Spider-Man: No Way Home recently unseated Avatar as the third highest-grossing domestic release in history.

God of War Ragnarok PS5, PS4 Still Pegged to Release This Year

It's coming.

Horizon Forbidden West is out now – check our Horizon Forbidden West guide – and Gran Turismo 7 is right around the hairpin bend, which means Sony’s attention will eventually have to transition to God of War Ragnarok. The title’s largely been kept undercover to allow PlayStation to focus its attention on the aforementioned PlayStation 5 and PS4 exclusives, but with few other titles in the organisation’s immediate pipeline, the spotlight will need to shift eventually.

Some fans have pondered, however, whether Kratos and Atreus’ adventure will even arrive in 2022 as planned. As part of an innocuous post on Reddit’s Gaming Leaks and Rumours community, one fan pondered whether the title could be pushed back – but respected Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier parachuted in with a one word answer, “Nope.”

Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? – Issue 414

Forbidden fun.

Do we even need to ask? This author's friend list is practically all Horizon Forbidden West right now, and we imagine that it's the same for many of you as well. Well, let's get on with it, then.

Sammy Barker, Editor

I've already poured 70 hours into Horizon Forbidden West, but I'm still coming back for more. There's just so much to do in this game that I can't imagine I'll be finished for a while.

Sony’s Releasing a PS4 System Update to Fix Cyberpunk 2077 Disc Issues

Cyberpunk'd.

We should all know by now that things rarely go smoothly when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077 and PlayStation 4. Since the game's gigantic 1.5 update launched earlier this week, some PS4 players have had issues launching their disc version of Cyberpunk 2077 — and it's actually Sony that's moving to fix the problem.

On the 19th February, the PS4 will get a new system update that should hopefully sort things out.
