Steam Lunar New Year Sale will likely start next week

steam lunar new year saleSteam is gearing up for a major Lunar New Year sale. Of course, the Lunar New Year is one of the largest holidays in the world, so it’s not a surprise to see Steam getting ready to start a new sale for it. But despite the fact that the Lunar New Year isn’t until February 1, the signs are pointing to the sale starting next week. These are according to leaked dates that were posted on SteamDB, despite the fact that the Steam Winter Sale was just a few weeks ago. According to SteamDB, the sale will run from January 27 to February 3, giving players a full week to scour the large Steam library in pursuit of a hot discount. That being said, the last Winter Sale was so soon, so we’ll likely see some repeats of deals we got just a few weeks ago. But the FOMO factor of missing a sale is now gone, so rejoice.   Lunar New Year sale Last time in the Winter Sale, many popular games got a major price cut, so stay on the lookout to see if any of those deals return. Steam Deck’s first batch of compatibility rated games are now available for viewing

With Steam Deck currently still on track to meet its revised February 2022 release date, there's a lot of work going on behind-the-scenes in preparation for launch, including Valve's extensive drive to rate every game on Steam for compatibility with its highly anticipated portable gaming PC - and the first batch of Steam titles to have received ratings, whether that be a fully compatible Verified or otherwise, have now appeared for perusal online.

Valve first discussed its Steam Deck Verified initiative back in October, announcing it had started reviewing the entire Steam catalogue to create a new compatibility ratings system - labelling games as either Verified, Playable, Unsupported, and Unknown - that would provide Steam Deck users with a simple means of checking how games will function on their system.

Steam Deck Compatibility categories are now present on some Steam titles

10df452589a2bf0182cbe577c63bf221a47c2d2dValve’s Steam Deck is close to releasing, and now, there’s more information regarding its compatibility with different titles. The big question on everyone’s minds at the moment is how many games will officially be supported on the device. Fortunately, we’re starting to see a range of titles that are seemingly compatible with the Steam Deck. First spotted by Reddit user Cool-Arrival-2617, SteamDB users can now see which games have passed the ‘Deck Verified’ program, as well as the titles that haven’t. Until now, there hasn’t been a clear consensus on how many titles we can expect to see be ‘Verified’ on the device. As of writing, there are 67 games that have been confirmed as either fully compatible, or not supported. It isn’t a very extensive list by any means, but it’s a start and a good way to see whether the Steam Deck has any value for you. After all, if it can’t play the games you want to play, what&...

Have A Nice Death Gets March 8 Release Date

Have A Nice Death, the hand-drawn indie roguelite that was announced at last year's Game Awards, now has an official release date. Developer Magic Design Studios will launch on March 8 via Steam early access, for a price of $15.

The so-called "hack'n'scythe" 2D roguelite puts players in the role of Death, the founder and CEO of Death, Incorporated, a huge company responsible for processing the souls of the deceased. As Death, players will have to fight through the company headquarters in a bid to subdue a number of Death, Inc. employees who have been collecting more souls than the company can handle. The game's bosses are made up of the company's heads of department, who are also called Sorrows.

The game will initially release on Steam and Valve's Steam Deck, when it becomes available. Players can wishlist the game on Steam now in anticipation of the early access release on March 8. On its Steam page, Magic Design Studios says the game is intended to stay in early access for around a year before the full version is released, with the studio saying it's "been excited about creating a game with the help of our players."

Valve says Steam Deck still on track for a February release

Following a delay at the end of 2021, Valve has confirmed its highly anticipated portable gaming PC Steam Deck is still on track to meet its revised February 2022 launch date.

When Steam Deck reservations first opened in July last year, Valve anticipated its hardware to begin shipping before the end of the year. Unfortunately, disruptions in production caused by a lack of available parts crushed those pre-Christmas dreams and Valve adjusted its planning, telling customers it expected first Steam Deck units to release in February this year.
