Play Destiny 2 On Steam Deck And You May Get Banned

Following the launch of Valve's Steam Deck recently, Bungie has clarified that Destiny 2 is not supported on the machine, further stating that anyone trying to bypass approved measures for playing the game will be banned.

In a post on the Bungie Help website, the developer made it clear: "Destiny 2 is not supported for play on the Steam Deck or on any system utilizing Steam Play's Proton unless Windows is installed and running."

The message goes on: "Players who attempt to launch Destiny 2 on the Steam Deck through SteamOS or Proton will be unable to enter the game and will be returned to their game library after a short time."

Further still, any player trying to bypass approved systems for Destiny 2 will be banned. "Players who attempt to bypass Destiny 2 incompatibility will be met with a game ban.

Destiny 2 isn't the only high-profile game not officially supported on Steam Deck. Before this, Epic Games confirmed that the massively popular battle royale game Fortnite is not natively supported on the machine due to concerns around cheating and compatibility issues.

In other news about the Steam Deck, Valve has released an update that addresses thumbstick issues after players reporting drifting problems.

For more on the Steam Deck, check out GameSpot's Steam Deck review. "What the Steam Deck excels at is being a mobile hub for your Steam games, giving you enough to work with to get the best out of a selection of games you can't go without while away from your desktop. In that regard, there simply is nothing better on the market right now," reviewer Alessandro Barbosa said.

As for Destiny 2, the game's big new Witch Queen expansion just launched. For more, check out GameSpot' Destiny 2: The Witch Queen review-in-progress.

Pokemon Go March 2022 Field Research Tasks And Rewards List

We're entering a whole new world of Pokemon Go in March, which also means Niantic has added a fresh slate of Field Research tasks to complete for the month.

To achieve a Research Breakthrough, you'll need to collect stamps by completing the Field Research tasks. Only the first task of each day gets you a stamp, however, so you'll need to complete one per day for a week in order to unlock the Research Breakthrough rewards and encounter–this month's encounter being the icy Alolan Vulpix.

To receive new Field Research tasks, you'll need to venture out to your local PokeStop. One task from the pool below will be randomly selected for you when you spin the Photo Disc for supplies, with each completion netting you rewards along with the aforementioned stamps. The list of available tasks and corresponding rewards is below.

March 2022 kicks off a new era for Pokemon Go with the addition of Pokemon from Alola, Pokemon from Sun and Moon's Hawaiian-inspired region. A slew of Alolan-themed events are planned throughout the month of March, including new Raid Hours featuring legendary Pokemon Tapu Koko and Mega Raids featuring Mega Venusaur.

Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio are some of the new Pokemon you'll find in March.

Pokemon Go Mega Venusaur Raid Guide: Best Counters, Weaknesses, Raid Hours, And More Tips

Pokemon Go's latest mega raid is now on, and this time Trainers will be facing off against a massive flower-wearing dinosaur.

Mega Venusaur--an amplified version of one of the first starter evolutions in Pokemon history-- has been named as the latest Pokemon Go mega raid, running from now until March 9. Mega Venusaur's time as the star of the Mega Raid runs concurrently with the game's Season of Alola event. Mega Venusaur is the latest Mega Raid to challenge Trainers, with Mega Houndoom burning up Gyms last time. We're not sure when Mega Venusaur will return to the raid circuit, so if you're going to challenge it check out our tips below.

Mega Venusaur represents the Kanto region Mega starters in raids this week.

What's A "Mega" Pokemon?

Before we begin, let's answer a simple question: what makes a "Mega" Pokemon different from a normal one? First introduced in 2013's Pokemon X and Y, Mega Evolutions were a temporary power-up that only designated Pokemon could use, giving that Pokemon access to a more powerful form so long as the player had collected the correct corresponding item during the adventure.

In Pokemon Go, a Pokemon with a Mega form can unlock it by consuming Mega Energy specific to that Pokemon, earned through activities like research tasks and catching other Pokemon. The first transformation to Mega form will cost 200 Mega Energy, while future transformations will cost 40.

Mega Pokemon not only have increased statistics, but they offer a damage boost to other Pokemon participating in a raid. The transformation only lasts for eight hours though, so be sure you're going to maximize the time given.

Mega Venusaur Raid Schedule

Mega Venusaur enters the five-star Raid ring starting March 1 at 10 AM local time, remaining there until 8 PM on March 9. Unfortunately the game does not follow any set schedules with its raid--Mega raids are one of six ranks a raid can be once the countdown begins--but the game constantly tells you who's around to raid, so just keep an eye out. Mega raids, specifically, are indicated by a special red egg.

Mega Venusaur Weaknesses And Counters

Mega Venusaur retains the typing of its normal form, so you'll need a group of Pokemon that can deal with Grass- and Poison-types. That combination gives Mega Venusaur a good amount of resistance, but there are four different types that can give Mega Venusaur fits in a raid.

Fire-, Flying-, Ice, and Psychic-type moves will all be super effective against Mega Venusaur, so bringing Pokemon of those types would be the safest bet. Charizard in either Mega form is a great option, as it can hit with both Fire and Flying moves for extra damage. If you haven't unlocked those yet, Moltres would also fit the Fire/Flying bill, while Articuno can provide an similarly effective Ice/Flying dual-type. Mewtwo makes a perfect Psychic-type counter, while Magmortar and Blaziken can fill in as Fire-types if need be.

Types To Avoid

Mega Venusaur resists a lot of different attack types, one more than the amount it's weak against. Other Grass-types should be left on the bench, as Mega Venusaur is most resistant to attacks from its own type. Electric-, Fairy-, Fighting-, and Water-type moves are also weakened against this Mega menace, so Pokemon like Lucario and Blastoise can sit this one out.

Once you've captured the dinosaur Mega Pokemon for yourself, add it to your team when you take on the five-star raid for the next two weeks, Tapu Koko.

Pokemon Go Tapu Koko Raid Guide: Best Counters, Weaknesses, Raid Hours, And More Tips

Pokemon Go's next special five star raid is now on, and trainers may feel a rush of tropical energy as they try to catch this legendary Pokemon.

Tapu Koko, the game's first Legendary Pokemon hailing from the Alolan region, has been named as the latest Pokemon Go five-star raid, running from now until March 15. Tapu Koko's time as the five-star raid Pokemon comes as part of the game's Season of Alola event introducing Pokemon Sun and Moon to the game. Tapu Koko is the first "Tapu" Pokemon to be introduced to Pokemon Go, with Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini, and Tapu Lele still to come. However, any chance to add a rare Pokemon like this is worth it, so if you're going to challenge the raid check out our tips below.

Tapu Koko Raid Schedule

Tapu Koko enters the five-star Raid ring starting March 1 at 10 AM local time, remaining there until 8 PM on March 15. Unfortunately the game does not follow any set schedules with its raid--there's no guarantee Tapu Koko will be waiting for you--but the game constantly tells you who's around to raid, so just keep an eye out.

There is one hope for those who need a Regirock appearance though: Pokemon Go's weekly Raid Hour on Wednesday night. The Raid Hour event for the next two weeks--March 2 and March 9 from 6 PM to 7 PM local time--will feature the Land Spirit Pokemon at nearly every Gym in the game. If you want a guaranteed shot at Tapu Koko, gather your friends and head out after dinner Wednesday night.

Tapu Koko Weaknesses And Counters

Tapu Koko is an Electric- and Fairy-type Pokemon, a unique dual typing it shares only with Dedenne from the Kalos region. The resistances of the two separate types cancel out most of their weaknesses, but there are two types that will deal extra damage to Tapu Koko: Ground-type and Poison-type.

Landorus, Garchomp, and Excadrill will be huge assets going into a Tapu Koko raid, with moves like Earthquake and Earth Power dealing massive damage. Groudon is also a terrific option if you have the Hoenn Legendary in your arsenal. If you'd rather pick a Poison-type, Roserade's dual Grass/Poison-type will not only give you Poison-type attack options, but Grass-type resists Electric moves, offering an extra defensive option. Mega Venusaur--this month's Mega Raid--would also work well here.

Types To Avoid

The Electric- and Fairy-type Tapu Koko has built-in resistances to six different types of Pokemon, all of which you should avoid bringing to the raid. Dragon-types are the most affected, as Tapu Koko has double resistance to Dragon moves through its Fairy typing. Bug-, Dark-, and Fighting-type moves are also resisted by Tapu Koko's Fairy side, while Electric- and Flying-type moves are resisted by its Electric typing.

Once you've captured the Land Spirit Pokemon for yourself, take it for a few rounds in the Go Battle League while you get ready for the next Community Day featuring Sandshrew.
